It's really hard to explain how much better the teams are in the qualifers. If the US plays in Copa America, it'll be a nice gauge, much more accurate than that 6-0 record, that's for sure.

Ha ha ha ha!! 2 perucos not making a big deal out of friendly soccer matches... ha ha ha ha... now that's some funny zchit!! :D

Last time I read a few of their comments on the perovian forum they made a big deal of the friendly game México vs. peru that was played about 3 or 4 years ago!

And one of the perucos making a big deal out of that game was Dominica Lulu. I got to remind you, perucos, that for that game peru did not played with their B or C team... no no no! In that game peru fielded their best team. They used the so-called "stars" Pizarro, Farfan, Solano, 'chorillo' Palacios, etc., etc.

Anyways, peru won the game. We don't make any excuses because in that particular game they played better than the mexican team... but please, don't you perucos forget that it was just a friendly match!

    Asi que; sereeeenos, moreeeenos...

that's why it's USELESS debating with you...
I give you all OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT games, and you say they are no better then your FRIENDLY stats. Knock, Knock...anyone there??

The USNT is a joke. I don't agree with posters here that even claim that the US team is a top contender. Of course, amongst the weak competition you do well, that's a given. I mean, your biggest 'claim to fame' is beating Mexico. Who cares... At least the Mexican NT has moved on and understands the importance of playing top caliber teams. They do it at NT level and at club level. So they have EARNED a reputation of a contender. After a good '94 WC showing, the 95' US Copa America proved to many, that the US was 'coming up' the ranks...but then NADA. The USSF totally stopped their participation. Let's not forget, in WC 98, The US finished IN LAST PLACE OUT OF 32 TEAMS, pretty bad.
In 02'WC like in '95 Copa America, US has a good showing again, but they proclaim themselves as one of the top 10 sides in the world and CHOKE in 06' WC.

why are the so many people from the concacaf... in the Copa America forums and starting trouble? US peps stop bitching because we invite u all the time and u guys dont want to come. Im glad Mexico comes so they can bring there starting line up and be owned. I love when Mexicans yell "si se puede" and lose 4-0 to a 2nd string brazil. I love to hear the mexican announcers saying how great there NT is and how bad it will be if they dont win, they get there asses handed to them and then dont talk about soccer for the next few days haha.

When mexico loses its like if someone died in telemundo I love it !!!

nope. the brawl went on to the locker room when the players got sent off. Pizarro went looking for the mexicans, but they ran away and locked their room. :p
    uuuhh...tough guy on the internet.
FACT. IT IS tough. Concacaf got nothing on Conmebol. CONMEBOL > Concalaugh
It's called generations. Bolivia had a good generation. You don't see them qualifying anytime sooner, do you?
You also got to watch it on TV from Octavos de Final onwards. What's your point? :p

It makes me sick knowing Mexico plays in CONMEBOL's Copa America... even worse now.. USA has entered it as well.. If only me and all the south american fans had our ways we would restore the prestige and honor of only haveing South American teams play in the Copa America.... nevertheless It's cool because Mexico gets there asses handed to them when they step foot in South America...USA.. they should pray they don't melt once stepping on S.A. soil.

    Agreed.

The one thing I never agreed with was Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Honduras, Japan, Canada, joing/invited to participate. If any team outside of Conmebol wishes join, the longest running competition, they should qualify first. Or have it for members only.......as it was before 1991.

Once it is back to the old format only then should the Copa America be considered as part of the World Cup qualifiers....but as it is now CONMEBOL is making money with more teams in the Copa America and will lose money with the World Cup qualifiers and Copa America as one.

Well it's called Copa America, not Copa Sudamerica, I don't see the problem with other countries in the Americans participating.

Because its a Conmebol tournament, Concacaf has theirs which is the Gold Cup, every region should deserve their own tournament.. UEFA got it, AFC got it, CAF has it, and now even Concacaf stopped inviting teams from other regions... why should we be the only ones to whore our tournament around?

I'm personally down for a Conmebol/Concacaf unification but until then we should have the right to have our own tournament

concacaf stopped inviting South American teams to copa oro.... prob because colombia eliminated mexico and they bitched. Why r u guys allowed in ours.

Also this replacing qualifiers is not going to happen because alot of teams qualify because of were they play.... Ecuador would never go untill the cup is in ecuador because of last qualifiers results they didnt win 1 point away from home, and less deserving teams might make it because they are playing at home... like boliva or venezulea.

I personally wouldnt mind because the top 4 teams player wise are argentina, brasil, uruguay and colombia... then maybe chile will play for the 5th spot with a concacaf team. this is based on playing on neutral ground... and player wise.

Ecuador is a team of players that are good at home, Peru only has strikers, Ven its not ur time yet, boliva..... what happened to them?, Paraguay I always count them out but they always suprise.

tho this process would be alot shorter and it would be nice to see all the teams bring A-list squads to the tournie... no sub 23s

based on what? if these teams play anywere other than home either team would destroy ecuador... just because Ecuador had a good game against england doesnt make them that good. That game they were better than u, england got lucky with a nice beckham free kick but u guys were always out.

Ecuador will be better than colombia when they dont need to use our coachs to qualify :)

colombia played with a 3rd string team a few days b4 the wc and did just as well as ecuador did against the teams that they played in the WC using their 1st string squad.

how many of the starters r mexican??? their goalie colombian... their best defender and player is colombian mosquera who might be named best SA player, and in mid field u have chivita another colombian.... if this team has 3 colombians how many args or brasilians does it have....

Colo Colo is all Chilean i think other than Andres Felipe who is colombian.. but im not to sure if he is a starter.... Tolima is all very young colombian players... only reason mexico does good is because Ur teams R ALL SOUTH AMERICAN... its like the spanish saying they are better than argentians because Real Madrid and Barca are the best teams in the world and win everything, how many spanish players r on that team and how good r they really???

In Conmebol only Brasil, Argentina, and Uruguay have better individual players then Paraguay... Colombia and Chile defenently dont

Making 3 World Cups in a row is not a suprise, Paraguay is between the 3th and 4th best in Conmebol..dont see why you would count them out
