    Here is the link http://www.fenifut.org.ni/

Once there, click on projectos and then click on managua. The stadium is going to be soccer specific, but I'm sure they are going to use it for other things too.

    It looks good! :D

they proably want to host a UNCAF or a youth tournement..

looks really good. is it for a club or is it for just the national team????or both

Nica clubs are mediocre at best compare to other leagues in CA.

there Talents or Names are non existent, they don't have a star player whos plays at a higher level abroad or figure like the other CA countries:: for ex Guatemala; carlos Ruiz, Honduras: david Sauzo, Costa Rica; Wanchope, Panama; felipe Baloy

once they start playing at thr Gold cup and being succesfull they can have players playing in europe or other places , but right now its still a grassroot movement playing against Profesional NT

Nicaragua has the heart to play but doesn't have the infrastructure to support the teams. How can you ask a player to perform at the top of his game if the has to go and get another job just to support his family. It's a vicious circle, you can't pay the player good because they dont have the money and you can't get good performaces from the players because they have to go get another job.

I think they are going to use the stadium for the national teams and probably for one of the clubs. It's about time, they have no real soccer stadium except for the one in Diriamba which is below standards.

Nicaragua needs time to grow. I'm sure they have good players, but much like El Salvador, they are sometimes overlooked. But i'm sure that when Nica gets the monatery help they need, then these players will become more well known and i dont think it would be a surprise to anyone, that they begin to send players internationally. Wether that be to neighbouring countries or even to the US.

The way i see it, players first aim to play at the top level in their country. Then they aim for Mexico, followed by MLS, then South America and then to Europe.

But saying this, i dont think that a national team can be rated by the amount of players that they have playing internationally. I mean if thats the way you look at things, then teams in CA would be ranked like this:

    1. Panama with 9 players playing interntionally (1 ES, 3 Colombia, 1 Uruguay, 1 Costa Rica, 1 Mexico, 1 Honduras, 1 Saudi Arabia)

    2. Costa Rica with 6 players playing internationally (1 Isreal, 1 Italy, 1 England, 1 Guate, 1 Honduras, 1 MLS)

    3. Honduras with 3 playing internationally (2 Italy, 1 USA)

    4. Guatemala with 3 playing internationally (1 MLS, 1 Spain, 1 USL)

When in reality, the FIFA rankings are like this:

    1. Honduras

    2. Costa Rica

    3. Panama

    4. Guatemala

I dont think that it's unrealistic to think that one day, Nicaragua could be on par with teams like Guatemala or El Salvador (at there current level of play).

Time will tell. If they get the money, and their governing body gets serious, then it's possible.

Much like the thoughts i have on the current ES national team, i think that Febuary will be the time were we can all see the level at which Nicaragua is currently at. It will be the moment of truth; either they perform, and gain respect from the other nations. Or they fail, and will continue to be seen as bonus points in tornaments, much like Belize.

From the showing that there U-17 showed in ES. I think Nicaragua can look to have a bright future, but like i said. Time will tell.

Just for the sake of accuracy.. Guate has 4 players playing internationally. Willie Sims who will be receiving his first Intl. Cap either on the 15 or the Uncaf, he plays in the Mls for The New England Revolution

Mang during the Wcq we had like 8... but the pay was horrible most of them left back to Guate...

Btw Cr has a lot more players playing abroad and honduras

I agree with you the Uncaf is were the truth will be told....

Right now I hope every player on Guate can get fit enough and prepare enough for the Uncaf .our country went half a year till playing our 1st Match since the USA debacle w our intern Coach.. I belive this will be the 1st true competive Uncaf on all fronts.

Just for the sake of accuracy..:p If a player has not played an international game (i.e never been capped) he cant really be counted. So for the time being, Guate only has 3 players that play in there national team that are not playing in Guatemala. When Willie gets his first game, then you will have 4 :)

And as for there being more players from CR or Honduras playing internationally, I dont deny that, i'm sure there are many. But what i was trying to point out, are those players who play internationally and also represent there country. I mean, ES has players in the US, but they dont play for the national team. Arturo Alvarez plays for FC DALLAS and is from Salvadorean parents but born in the US. Edwin Miranda playes in the USL for the Puerto Rico Islanders, he is born in ES, but he doesn't play for the national team. These are only two, but i'm sure there are many more. Not just from ES, but all other CA countries.
I can't give you a reason as to why they dont represent ES. It could be many things. It could be that FESFUT has not noticed these players, or, maybe they are seen as not being good enough, or, maybe more likely, that these players dont want to represent ES. Either way, there are many players playing out side of their given countries that could play for there national team, but dont.

All i was trying to say in regards to Nicaragua, was that they, nor any team for that matter, need interationally based players to have a better side. Even with a side of semi-pro's Nica could be good. But if Nicaragua grows into a football nation, and develops its football at all levels, then naturally players would begin to find opportunities outside of Nicaragua, and maybe that would help its football grow. Right now thats not happening, but its not out of the questoin that it could happen. Maybe sooner then we think.

As somewhat of an example of international players = a better team. You should note, that in the U-17 comp held in El Salvador earlier this month, Guatemala finished last. Nicaragua finished second last, and managed to tie with both Guatemala and Panama.
I'm not 100% sure, but i would bet that when comparing both Guatemala and Nicaragua, Guatemala would have players based in bigger clubs or football schools (I know that none of these players play internationally, which is what we are talking about, but they play for better teams, which is what playing internationally is all about). Yet, even with that being the case. Nicaragua performed better overall in this tournament. Pre-tournament, everone thought Nicaragua was going to be an easy match, that was all but won, and that Guatemala was a contender to go through. And by looking at the results, that was not the case.

    Just to note:
My answer to the poll was 10 years

You took us for a ride to say 10 years...
Youth team resluts don't mean anything till they reach Under 20 and 21 stage that's when you begin to see if they're going to be good or some shit...

Nicaragua fans . Let me say this point and leave you thinking. You say your infastructure is bad? But So is the rest of central america to world standards.. Its the commitment that your FF has in each level of soccer that determines how good your country will be. Guatemala has depended on their youth liga called la especial which the Clubs themsleves invested in without support of of the FF.

The especial consist of the Following U-12 thru U-20 then promotion to the 1st team if there good enough or the loan to a divison 2 team till they prove there capable of competing at the top level in their country. Its a simple systems lots of player benifit from it.. And if nica clubs start doing it they can atleast begin having succes at certain levels. Each country world has heart but it takes good scouting to find those players and make them smart proffesionals. Are u 20 from both municipal and Comunicaciones currently has many guatemalans plying their trade in the Ncca division 1 getting ready for the MLS, including Mynor Diaz center back of SMU who already has been capped for Guatemala and a keeper at NC state,
And 3 others that popol knows by heart.

If nica knew how to take advantage they atleast could delvelop a few in the USA like guatemala is currently doing, and they could quite possibly have a few playing in the USA and one day europe

When I was saying that Nicargua lacks the infrastructure I was comapring it to Central America, not the world. Ofcourse other countries in CA are lacking comared to Germany, Brazil and even Mexcio. But can you honestly tell me that Nicaraguan soccer has the same support as Costa Rica or Guatemala soccer? If you think that they do, then you haven't been to Nicaraguan recently.

I somewhat agree with what you said about judging how good players will be by the way the perform during U-17. So let me ask you, to what do you attribute Guatemalas' horrible performance in U-17, where normally, they would have beat Nicaragua?

Let me be blunt , under 17 is very hard to develop a good team, the whole team consists of amauter players, so guate succuess has always been hit or miss at the Under 17. The Under 20 has always been a fair assement because the team consist of full time proffesional who can play at that level well, and based on there performance you can determine if they will be good at the Under 23 and senior men side or not. Sure Guatemala played bad at the Under 17, but we are a powerhouse at the under 20 right and I can tell right away that we have a Olympic bound side for the 2008 games and quite possibly the 2007 under 20 wc. Where develop matters the most is within the clubs they play at there peak age 18 and if the accuatally are ready to step up to the Senior national side.

Don't count on that under 17 guatemala to be any thing till the under 20's come around.

who is he , is he playing professionally now? or is he Semi-retired

do you me join the team as in play? or coach the team
    ?

if he hasn't played regularly at a pro level there is no need or advantage to him being on Nicaragua , unless he is coaching

Nicaragua is a poor team so they can only prepare by playing themselves. They also play second divion teams from other countries like El Salvador and Honduras.
