Can yo uplease stop these ridiculous threads -- there is no way that top notch Eurpean talent is coming to MLS. Regardless of whetehr or not their wife is American or loves to shop in NYC or wants to ba an actress in Hollywood.

No Klinsmann, No Figo, No Ronaldo, No BEckham, and certainly No Sheva!
    It ain't goona happen.

OK noo Sheva but you really don't think any european player will come to MLS who is not on there way down. I personally believe money talks and America is where alot of europenas wanna be. (maybe not for soccer but for life in general)

You give no time frame.. Likely not this next season.. To say it's not going to happen without any time frame for each regarded is a foolish statement..
I would almost say with certainty that at least one name on that list will be here at some point..
Klinsmann already worked for the Galaxy, btw..;)

It it true that this guy doesn't wear deodernt, when in the AllStar game the guy who was marking him said that he reeked of BO. I thought he has an American wife and the man reekes like that. I guess since folks in Europe don't shave under their armpits that's why it's cool to have a BO.

Sounds like a good tactic if you're trying to get space from your defender..:p

Victoria Beckham is house shopping in LA.. might not be that far of a stretch to see Becks come here pretty soon. Yeah Yeah Yeah, she might just be shopping around for when ever, but they have had the money for far long enough to buy a house in LA, kinda convienient its right before the January Transfer window isnt it ?

Can we stop it with these jackass posts about players earning more than MLS teams are worth coming to play here? I mean really.

This is getting annoying. MLS is not going to get Beckham, Tevez, Ronaldo, or any other player of that stature because the simple fact is their annual salary exceeds the total of ALL salaries in MLS (or pretty close to it).

So maybe they will BUY a team and put themselves on the roster, but they aren't going to sign a contract to play for any team in MLS.

I think you should do some math, not that your post has much to do with reality anyway.. Tevez, for example earns $1,193,088 a year if you take his weekly salary of $22944 X 52... Palencia at Chivas USA makes about that... Add one more MLS star and you got more.. Perhaps you meant to say their combined incomes but even then it's pointless..
It's a matter of will for the owners.. If they want to pay for a big star they can.. They have to judge the risk vs possible benefit.. We are not talking about poor club owners... Are you going to tell me Red Bull is too poor to sign a marque player if the want too? If AEG wants to spend a big wad, they could.. It's just do they want to? Remember.. MLS just made a Designated Player Rule to allow them to if they wish.. The players wanting to come here at certain stages of their careers is likely the biggest factor if a Tevez or Becks, etc.. doesn't come here..
If the owners think in the long run they may end up with some good TV money, etc.., by taking the league in the direction of paying up some large salaries for some big stars, they likely will.. And by US sports standards, some of these stars like Messi make peanuts for their abilities.. Not saying MLS will be paying those wages soon but just reminding you the sports owners in the US do have some bucks.
Anyway, at some point there will be a signing that you now will claim is not possible... When and who is the question..

I'd say that older famous euro players like beckham will come but not players like sheva because he's still top-notch and could play at almost any of the big clubs in europe.

That's what they said about Pele, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Eusebio, Carlos Alberto, George Best... should I go on?

It's all about the money, and RB and AEG have plenty, for starters.

After seeing his last few matches in the Prem, he's soft like Nerf bro! We all know how much the MLS is one of the feeder leagues to the EPL due to the Brits being goo-goo over the workman effort and grit of MLS players. If he can't hang there, what's he going to do in the heat/humidity and often toughness of the MLS? Naw dawg!

there is a reason why Red Bull the company went out and got that second DP slot by Red Bull the team trading away Guevara. Red Bull The Company has plenty of money and contacts to get high profile players if they wish. Maybe not during the january transfer window but definetly when the transfer window opens up next summer I can guarantee you Red Bull the team are going to sign two high profile names .

Red Bull should just buy Chelsea, move them to New York and rename them the Cosmos. Blue Bulls just sounds unfortunate.
