weird, that kid had a thread about it on nasioc that my friend pointed out a few days ago. (edit: just saw it mentioned in the article as well)

its not an STi, by the way. just a wrx.

and the guy driving it is, one, an idiot, and two, a real ricer. i mean, look at that thing. the lights are the best thing he had on that thing.

oh, and the moron didnt have his parts insured, either.

    $80K modifying a fkcing Subaru? I don't get it.

Every time I see one of these ricers drive by me with their huge exhaust, I laugh at the fact that the car invariably has a huge oil smoke stain on the bumper.

yeah. its a subaru. but you should also drive one before you group them in with people who do that to a honda or dodge or what have you.

that said, those that do it to subarus (the big wings and ricer crap) are just as retarded.

BUT, youre remiss to think down upon them. my good friend has an STi. He hasnt put too much into it, but it eats up brand new vettes. straight line or corners, you can pick, it wouldnt matter. a well modified STi will be faster, and an better handling car than most anything you can buy for under $150k.

that wrx that burned up would probably have done 0-60 in somewhere around 4.7 seconds. so while he made it look like a joke, that doesnt mean that it was.

Meh. For $50K, I can buy a loaded Lotus Elise:

and for $50k you can have an insane STi that can still function as a daily drive and be unbelievable on the track. oh, and have fun taking the wife and kids out or getting groceries in the elise ;) :D

Of course, the Elise is actually an attractive car, though.

Not being able to do those things is a definate plus in the Elise's column.
