As the newest moderator of the Rev forum, I just wanted to say "hi" to all of you out there. I know some of you are saying, "Hey, this putz is a Burn fan, why is he moderating our board?" so let me present my credentials:
    • I'm a former POCM subscriber and a frequent uncredited POCM contributor.
    • I've actually been to Foxboro more than any other MLS stadium other than the Cotton Bowl.
    • I know that Michael Mejido is amusing... but only in small doses.
    • I helped contribute to Tom Hill's legal troubles three years ago at MLS Cup '99.
    • I know the significance of the phrase "Why can't we get players like that?"
    • I know the significance of the phrase "Live Poultry, Fresh Killed"
    • Two of my all-time favorite MLS players are former Revs.
    • I don't like the Metros either.
Since the Revs have done so much for me as a Burn fan, I figure this is my way of "giving back." I'll be a fair moderator and treat this forum as what it should be:

A place for fans to constantly rip the players, coaching staff, and front office of the New England Revolution.

They went where everyone else goes . . .

The rest of the moderators are now onto other boards and scoring lots of goals. In fact, I think we traded three of them all at once, for a few new posters that might not actually produce much.

Man, why can't we get moderators like that.

    (Sorry . . . I'll return to lurking . . .)

    Bob

I thought in Dallas it was more like "Why can't the Revs give us players like that?"

TheJefe: BigSoccer aristocracy. Now, finally, we might have hit the big time (I haven't felt so good since Walter Zenga became coach...er, except maybe this is a good thing).

Now all we need is a left back, an attacking mid, another scoring threat, a backup keeper, better management, stadium personal that don't have contempt for footy fans, a mascot that's not on the Animal Control "Most Wanted List", etc., etc., etc.....

    Cheers mate!

Doubtless because in your dark criminal past, you often had to go down Cambridge Street to the Middlesex County Court House ;-)

Damn! I would have applied for this gig if I thought it was going to go to an "outsider". Oh well, it could have been Mike Segroves. ;) Welcome to our little corner of fulbol hell.

And, of course, Dustin, we can continue our never-ending conversation about what makes a good "soccer town". :)

Seriously, welcome to the land of the most underachieving club in MLS. We've changed everything else here in 7 years except the Krafts and Slyde the Fox (hmm, maybe that's the explanation). And so now we change moderators too.

    Cheers, Chris

Like so many of the Revs' international allocations, my brief time as the moderator of this forum is over. Huss PMed me this morning and told me that he had received "too many complaints."

It was fun while it lasted!

Are you serious? People actually complained about you moderating this forum? Sad ...

Actually, Slyde has changed as well:

    Old "Slyde"

    New "Slyde"

    The Magpie

Who BTW is no longer a Bigsoccer moderator, so please disregard the identification as such in my profile. Huss has yet to change that.

Not to be negative, but doesn't the "New" Slyde bear a striking resemblance to Wile E. Coyote on crack? But then again...
    ;)

This always looks to me like the female mascot 'Nutmeg' that they had for the WWC in 99. I guess Slyde had a sex change.

Well, you gotta admit that the new Slyde looks younger and fitter.

In general I agree, but this isn't about bottle caps, who sucks, if the team has gelled, who to fire, who to blame, why to support, etc.

    This is more important! :)

Sorry Dustin ... I for one was happy with you being the moderator.

No kidding. It just goes to show how ticked off Revs fans are -- we're even bitching about our moderators.

On a serious note, this is really stupid. Anyone who would be interested in sharing our misery I think should be welcomed with open arms as long as he's going to do his job as mod.

Who cares what his favorite team is?

So YOU were the one who gave the Staties the bright idea! So why were they wearing DC United gear and not Dallas?

And another reason Dustin should be reinstated as Moderator is that he continues to steadfastedly deny all references to women named "Lurleen," even though FBI records show his date to the High School prom was named Lurleen "don't call me Patrick" McCabe.

    Aw, man.

It would have been nice to have a moderator that could have explained to us what winning a trophy feels like. You just can't put a pricetag on that kind of experience.

I propose that we solve this in a way that only BS posters can solve disagreements: an Internet poll.

I'm not saying it's invalid for people to voice misgivings about a new moderator (although I'm a little bit at-a-loss as to what these might be), but if/when these misgivings go counter to the prevailing opinion, they shouldn't dictate what happens.

So what do you guys think (that is, if TheJefe is still interested)?
