Re: 2009 J. League Transfers & Off-the-field News Thread J. League isn't free from the world financial crisis either. http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2008/12/31/3884502.htm
Re: 2009 J. League Transfers & Off-the-field News Thread I real last week that Mitsubishi-Fuso is taking a similar path with Urawa Reds. The great thing about Sanga, is that even when Kyocera and Nintendo go belly up, Japanese women would always need Wacoal bras.

Here is a tentative list of Nagoya Grampus players for 2009, along with shirt numbers for some of them. Only Yoshida getting the number 4 shirt is official, but I don't think the others listed here will change. (Most Grampus fans expect Ogawa to get the number 10 shirt vacated by Fujita, but we will have to wait until later this month or early February to find out.) Pos. The fixtures for J1 (plus J2 and Nabisco) are out on February 6th! Just 10 more days to wait! http://www.j-league.or.jp/release/000/00002799.html
Kyoto Sanga FC already gave list and numbers... here: http://sangananbanjin.blogspot.com/2009/01/news-2009-uniforms.html

So when are the fixtures going to be announced? I"m trying to figure out if it's worth buying a season ticket or not.
OMG, yet ANOTHER gasman! Fixtures out on Feb the 6th, we're told. A season ticket for a J1 team is always a good investment. Just think of all those summer evenings at Ajinomoto with beer, edamame and a good soccer game...
Woo! We're spreading! tokyobairn, I'm a proud FCT season ticket holder and it's certainly worthwhile if for nothing else than the "WTF" reactions I get when, as a foreigner, I stand in the SOCIO line. Gimme a shout if you have any questions.

Thnaks for that fellas. A few of us been going for a few years now so will probably take the plunge this year, if only to save the hassle of getting tickets at the combini!
A few of us? There are others How come none of y'all ever join the fun behind the goal? I always see a handful of foreigners at Ajisuta but they always seem to favor the back stand or the upper level. Maybe if we get enough foreign fans together we can start our own flag displays
I hear ya man. The Kanji test I took when I was a student was easier than that... Hey, away game in Kyoto, come around, ne...
Really? Once you learn how to use the Loppi machine at Lawson's, it's a snap (which reminds me that one of my planned updates for Aishiteru Tokyo will be a guide to buying tickets). Learning to use Pia Ticket/E-Plus' online website is very useful too; when you're finished just print out the payment info, take it to a conbini, and bam. Pia shops are even easier because there's a clerk behind the counter who can help you out if you don't speak much Japanese.
Oh well Actually I may ask you to help contribute to Aishiteru-Tokyo if you wouldn't mind; I have a couple of those Flip video cameras and it'd be awesome if I could pass one off to you before a game so you can get some video from the back stands. My photos/video are always from in the middle of the cheering section so it'd be nice to see how we look from the outside.
