With a little bit of luck (ok a lot of luck), on December 20th we could see them get knocked off by Nissan or Mitsubishi.

    What about "Grulla" ?
And how do you pronounce that in Japanese?

I quite like the sound of Dezzolla Shimane, ;) Where do they get these names from?

On a more serious note, anybody know when J1 teams will enter this year? And when the draw will be? Just wondering so I have an idea what date Gamba's season will end,

I was looking at a different site earlier but this is what I found for now
    http://www.goal2002.com/2008/emp.html

Like Goru said -- Nov 2nd J1 enters, and Oct 12 J2 enters.

Gamba will play Kofu, Fagiano Okayama, or Volca Kagoshima.
And they're likely to face Jubilo on the 15th in the round of 16.

    Re: 88th Emperor's Cup Thread [R]

So we play two rounds before the end of the league season this time round? I fancy our chances against any of those three, then maybe Jubilo will be too busy focusing on staying in J1 to bother with the cup. We may have a chance yet! This may be our final shot at ACL participation next season so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good string of results.

I'll certainly keep an eye out for the result of the Fagiano-Volca tie this weekend.

    Honda spanked 4-0 by Tosu...

Only surprises were a university taking out Tokushima (but then again, it is Coach Minobe, who was eliminated by a University with Sanga last season as well...) and (partially) Tochigi SC taking out Roasso Kumamoto.

Well, there are actually two awesome derbys awaiting for the next round:

    Nagoya-Gifu
    Oita-Tosu

Shonan-Matsumoto is still on, in the 85th minute it is still 1-1.

will be an interesting match! i don't think we're anywhere near J1 quality these days, but i guess that's the case with Omiya too so it will be close yeah. if we still got a chance for promotion we will probably not think about the cup too much either so...
