    I never doubted our ladies, either.

    Today they certainly looked like a team, something that rarely occurred under Ryan. The defense played wonderful, always switching up and covering for one another, especially in the face of an almost constant Brazilian attack. Up front they were very patient and took their chances when they got them. And, finally, the Woman of the Match is most certainly Hope Solo. After everything that went on, she put on her game face and made some FANTASTIC saves. I certainly hope that there's an "I'm sorry, I'm an idiot" gift basket from Ex-Coach Ryan at her home when she gets back from Beijing.

    Great job USA! Can't wait to see the team in Philly next month!

    WE WON!!!! WE WON!!!! I don't think I can do any analysis right now, too amped from watching. We played better than we have the entire tourny but you know, we could have played even better. (ok, so maybe I can do some analysis). I'm very happy for the team and very happy, in general, with the play. I can just see how much progress the team can make, too. WE WON THE GOLD MEDAL!!!!!!!!

    Wow. What a great game. We looked phenomenally better across the feild. The defense was tight. Every member was determind to win each and every ball. Solo with great saves.

    Me thinks this is what we were hoping for as a positive from Abby's absence. Hadn't seen more than a few stretches of it in prior games.

    I would have been proud of our play even had the result been different. Brazil wasn't off - just two great teams playing all out.

    I'm trying to keep watching the online feed to see if they'll show the medal ceremony... they seem to be setting up stands but the camera is pulled all the way back....

    Don't have a hope solo shirt but I wore a Han Solo one for the first half and wore a Star Wars: A New Hope shirt during the second half :)

    kidding aside - actually wearing a United States soccer shirt that saids 2004 Olympic Gold Medal Champions etc - now I can retire it and get me one that saids 2008 OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL CHAMPIONS!

    as i said before, brazil may have the best player in the world but it takes the best 11 to win gold.

    Wow !

    If you tried to tell me after the Norway game that they'd win it all, I would have had you committed.

    You gotta hand it to them. They got better every game. This one was a bit ragged, but Brasil is a great team. When Brasil slowed down a step and the US started passing, it was the difference.

    Great win.
