Re: Dalglish ankle surgery: out three wks... I hope this cures his problem once and for all. We've missed having him out there on the field.
Re: Dalglish ankle surgery: out three wks... Yeah, I hope that after the three weeks, he is back on the pitch and can stay that way without any problems.
Injury updates: Stuart Holden, Brad Davis, Joseph Ngwenya, Brian Ching Brad Davis and his expected return from injury? I looked on the teams' website and couldn't find any injury information. Also, what about Stuart Holden? Is he injured or just not playing? Because he would seem (to me at least) to be a MUCH better sollution to LM than Jaqua has been. I love Jaqua as a striker/forward, but he leaves ALOT to be desired as a winger.
Re: What is the status of? I could be wron gwith all of this, but this is what I remember hearing. Brad Davis I thought was out for the rest of the season. I never got an update about him coming back earlier. Holden is injured, and I'm sure he'll come back soon(?). I guess you should really let someone else tell you as I could be wrong, but that's what I remember.
Re: What is the status of? I saw Stuart last night. He injured his ankle during Superliga, but should be back next week. I haven't heard a recent update on Brad.
Re: What is the status of? I posted this on another thread too. We saw Brad jogging very slowly and gingerly yesterday during warm ups. Looks to me like it will be a while before he's ready to run and cut at full speed. (My son has had 3 knee surgeries of this type, so we're kind of experienced with the whole thing unfortunately.)
Re: What is the status of? Brad = late-season return at best...maybe a playoff game or two Stuart = Ready to destroy the Village People Paul = late-season/next year
Re: What is the status of? 3 weeks puts him near the end of the season, then he needs to get match fit, which he hasn't been this year at all, then he needs to get used to playing with these guys and needs to make it to the bench, much less the lineup....he might get a spot sub here or there in the playoffs, but I doubt it...not unless injuries force Dom's hands
Re: What is the status of? That's true. I wasn't htinking about how many weeks were left in the season. I just want it to go on forever!
Re: What is the status of? Amen. But shut up! I like my current state of denial....it's almost over guys.
Re: What is the status of? Davis' surgery was July 5, the Thursday we played NYRB at Robertson. At the time, it was reported as he'd be out either 6-8 wks, or 8-10 wks. After one of the early Superliga games (want to say CA), I posted about talking to him after the game, while he was still on crutches, he felt it would be more like 9-10 wks. 9 wks from 7/5 is 9/6, 10 wks is 9/13. there would still be 5 or 6 games left in the regular season at that point. Dalglish's surgery was last Fri, 8/17 - three wks from that is 9/7 - so he'd hopefully be back around the same time as Davis.
Re: What is the status of? Thanks for the info. It would be nice to get them both back for the same game. I don't think they would start due to just being back, and not wanting to get them hurt again, but maybe they would both be able to sub on later in the game. We have a game on 9/8 against RSL at home. Is that the game to go to you think?
Re: What is the status of? Well now the paper says Davis, Dalglish and Holden will be back by mid-September. The people I know that know Stuie had talked to him or his family and said he'd be back by Saturday, so don't know what's up with that.
Re: What is the status of? I didn't think Holden was bad enough for a mid-september return. I was thinking Saturday would be when he came back, but I dunno. I guess we'll see when game time comes.
Re: What is the status of? We talked to Holden and he said he was hoping to be back AFTER the Columbus game.
Re: What is the status of? Someone told me last week that Stuie had an MRI done on his ankle - must have been a more serious injury than we first thought but apparently not something that needs surgery.
Re: What is the status of? I hope he will return soon too. But as a forward if the " Black Iguana" Ngwenya is gonna be out. But I gotta say, there is no one on our roster that can replace Davis and his corner kicks. I admire his ability to place the ball on a dime, as Brian Ching puts it. Hope he will return soon..
Re: What is the status of? There are a lot of people that we have out that we could use. Some return Saturday, some don't. I keep talking to a cousin who lives in Dallas, and we have a bet going the the Dynamo repeat this year. I keep telling him that when we get our roster back at the end of the season, it's going to be a whole new story. I keep trying to tell him that we keep winning games with guys that are the backups (not to discredit anyone, because I have said MILLIONS of times that we have the best bench/reserve system in the MLS), and it's only going ot get better when we get our true 11 back.
Stuart Holden ?? Oy from Colorado !!! The Dynamo is my second favorite team and I enjoyed your play during Superliga. Question, what happened to Holden? Memory recalls that he was on fire the entire month of June and I haven't much of him since. Thanks !
