We are apparently going to go with Totti up front, Mancini-Perrotta-Taddei in the middle behind him. Montella is...injured.

No Mido? If this is so, he's out by Monday.

Shen's worst nightmare confirmed. Now watch what Vieira and Materazzi try to do to Francesco.

Any predictions? If we fly - absolutely fly - on the wings, and get enough slashing runs at goal and good service from them into the box; if the central midfielders pour forward from the start; if the half-backs get into the action with some crosses; if Mexes can make three or four good, strong runs up from the back and we cover for him; if Totti is not isolated up front; and if we take an early lead, I feel we can pull it out.

Pizarro has a slight injury. I'd say this is a big-time chance to play Aquilani, and a chance for him to make a statement: let Perrotta and De Rossi interchange through the middle, and let Aquilani romp around close to the front, feeding the wings and racing forward, pulling back slightly and giving wing support, feeding it in to either Totti or a player racing into the box, or shooting.

    Forza Roma!

It was supposed to be Inter v. Juventus (Coppa Italia winner v. Scudetto winner) but Juve were relegated so Inter as the new champions enter as Scudetto winner, and since they also won the Coppa Italia, the runner-up, Roma , plays them in the SuperCoppa.

    FORZA ROMA!!

    Season starts today! Finally!

I know we are weaker than Inter, but it is 11 v 11.

MILANO IN FIAMME! Let's go there and get a bit of payback for last season's Coppa. Now that we know Juve is in B this year, it's safe to hate Inter and Milan again.

    3-1 Giallorossi.

    DAJE ROMA!

According to Il Romanista, we will play a 4-3-3 with Pizarro in the lineup, going for an all-out attack. good news, right Shen?

Also, Spalletti says we are going to play wide-open, attacking football.

    Let the good times roll!

    Here is Datasport's preview:

    http://www.datasport.it/leggi.aspx?id=3950037

My guess is that our WC winners are still out of shape - Totti,
De Rossi, Perrotta - but I hope we can get a spark from players
like Mancini and Chivu. They should be super-fit by now.

    Huh?

Anyway, I'm going to watch it. You guys should have a pretty good chance as Inter never can seem to get their act together. They do seem to take these sorts of things pretty seriously, though.

Roma should be investigated for doping... Each of Spalletti's pecks looks to be about the size of Taddei's head.

Yeah, I would give the assist to Inter's back 4. Mancini is one of those guys I could watch all day. Terrific player. Nice save by Toldo.

Shoulda been a PK for Inter as I thought that Vieira was fouled by Cufre in the box. Call went the other way, though.
