Fax has a video called "Chelsea invades LA" in the Free Video section if you scroll down a bit. It also has some other video of fans and other interviews from California. Remember, scroll down to the Free Video section here: http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer Lampard and Terry talk up MLS and its improvement and how tough DC was last year.
Yeah, when I heard that I thought it was pretty cool. Although they have to give the league props, the comments seemed pretty genuine.
Who cares if they are trying to flatter the league or what not, the fact they are even knowledgable of our league and stuff going on is great...knew about the last all-star game and like terry said he watches matches...to know that you have one of the best players in the world watching MLS matches and expecting a fight out of our side is all good to me. And when they get beat they'll really respect us
I wouldn't be really surprised if they did catch a game or two. When I was in England last fall they had the games on at around 2 a.m. They show like the previous weeks Soccer Saturday game. A few college kids I played soccer with at a college over there said they watch our league. Not many other soccer events to watch in the summer time. They show Soccer Saturday every week on one of their main channels, I think 4, so it's possible to follow. They also show like Monday night football and the World Series. It was kind of a odd feeling watching the World Series at 3 a.m. by myself in Oxford. I watched like four MLS games myself when I was in England.
When I lived in London I saw DC United jerseys for sale. People in England DO watch MLS on occassion . Its not big or anything but there is a fascination with it because it's "their sport" being played in America.
