Did the Quakes MLS Cup titles even get this much ink? I am saddened reading these articles and I am not even an Earthquakes fan.
It's a close call. The Quakes got about a day of ink after the '03 Cup. Probably a little more now that it comes atop of the ongoing political scandals in San Jose.
Well, this is interesting from Yahoo: A's ownership group wants to buy MLS expansion team for San Jose Thsi would be a good time for the San Jose politiocos to put up or shut up.
Hmmm. I just now thought about this: One advantage to moving SJ --> Houston is that it gives Houston an instant team sans the whole expansion growing pains... ... in order to maximize interest in a Dallas-Houston rivalry. I guarantee that the Houston games will be a big draw in Frisco right away. Pennies compared to the long-haul, but creating demand is h-uge in SSSs.
Huh. Let's see how they compare to LA/SJ games, in terms of tix sold and atmosphere. But FYI, Houston is not just getting an established team. They're getting a young, exciting team that happens to one of the best, record-wise, in MLS history.

I was gonna say Dallas, but Phili works too... I think he meant regionally. - northeast/east coast, southwest/west coast, south gulf coast, and midwest/great plains
