Pick who is your selection for all-time best DC United Right Midfielder, while with DC United. The criteria is up to you: minutes, quility over a length of time, most brilliant moment, likeability, etc.

If your favorite is not on the list, then we can have a challenge knock-off election in a subsequent thread.

I don't want to anyone to be disuaded from picking Tony Sanneh from this position because he has already been picked at another position. If it comes down to it, we will have a run-off so that he is placed in his most popular position.

Olsen by a hair over Tony Sanneh.

This was a tough one for me. How Ben performed on the RW before he left to go to NF, versus how Earnie performed for us in 2004. And then there was Sanneh, too! I think technically, Earnie is the man.

As a mere formality, I'll accept nominations for attacking midfielder. The obvious nominations are Marco Etcheverry, Juan Antonio Marco Etcheverry, and The Devil. There is also Ben Olsen.

If you're mentioning people who have played in that position (however briefly) you have to include Gomez, Harkes, and Freddy.

I think Marco occupies positions 1 through 5 on the chart, though.

Lazy Alavenja, Mark Lisi, and Moreno.

Though it feels like we're lining up 'candidates' in an old style Soviet election.

With the notable exceptions of Nelsen and Garlick, this thing is shaping up to be the 1998 team. :)

Well, we often make the point that the 1998 team was the best United (and thus MLS) team ever. :)

My decision process was about as one sided and easy to see as this poll.

Has to be Olsen. Stewart was superb for a handful of games in 04, otherwise OK, but not special. Gros is a work in progress. Olsen, before NF, was brilliant and probably a USMNT lock on the right side.
