Beckham makes up for it :D

Real Madrid own 50% of his image rights. Beckham makes 100 mill with adidas, Real Madrid take 50 mill of that

well i feel loss shows that we are signing *better* players than those that r leaving and making the squad stronger. so i think it shud not be a matter of major concern.

Moreso seeing as transfer income isn't the main resource of Madrid's money. Ronaldo's shirt's sale already paid for his transfer. Beckham's money probably paid for every transfer we ever made. :D

I think it is meaningless to quantify net gain/loss. It's what we do with the players that matters. If Ramos, for example, plays 12 good seasons for us, the cost of having signed him diminishes, as we don't have to incur in the opportunity cost of signing other CBs, plus there are certain valuable intangibles that come with having a player with in your team for over 5 years. Plus there's the matter of image rights, which could easily be deducted from the transfer fee since they are money that the player WILL (barring catastrophe) bring into the club. I think signings (and sales) should be evaluated on a case-to-case basis, and not lumped into a round figure.

With all my respect, These statisdists are insignificant. Real Madrid is a BUYER club and it always will lose money on transfer fees.

We don't buy players to sell them, we buy player so they hopelly can stay with us until almost the end of their careers, that would means that they have played really good for us.

We won't say: "We bought him for 50 Millions when he was 24 years old, and we sold him for free when he was 32 years old."

We will say "He has been a legendary player during these 8 years, and has been great watch him play."

Like everybody in this board knows, Real Madrid objetive isn't is make rich its stockholders, Real Madrid isn't a company, belongs to his members(socios), all the money that generate the club is reinvested to buy players, improve the stadium, built new training installations, etc, .....

And Like also everybody knows Real Madrid actually is the richest club in the world, the club that generate more incomes.

The last season the Real Madrid incomes were around 280 Milions € having a net benefit of around 48Millions €

What has made the club with that money?, buy players, and even buying that player having benefits.

Real Madrid economic politic very strict and don't waste more money than the money that club has generates that season.

Actually Real Madrid has 0 bank debt. And 160 millions € in liquid assets. It is the healthiest situation of a club in the world.

The 90% of the clubs have to go to the banks to ask for money to sign players. Well, Real Madrid don't need to go to the banks, and even don't going to the banks can spend more money than a lot of clubs, thanks to his extraordinary economic work in the last years.

If Real Madrid would go to the banks (like made the 90% of the clubs) to sign players, probably could waste easily 100 Millions € net in players each season, without assuming big risks.

A example, You want to buy a house but like 90% of the people, you don't have money to pay it, so you go to the bank to ask for money. The bank study your incomes and lend you the money. A money that you have to return in 5,10,15,20 years ..... paying a big interest.

Imagine that your bother (Real Madrid) want to buy the same house but in only one year he earns the enought money to buy the house, without having to go to the banks, without having to pay interests. can you imagine how many money would lend the bank to your bother knowing his incomes? A lot!!! But your money is very austere and don't want to go to the banks, he lives better knowing that he doesn't debts money to anybody.

So, you brother have the same house than you, but you will have to pay much more money (interests) for the same house.

Real Madrid incomes evolution (Last 5 seasons)
    ------------------------------------------------

    ------------------------------
    Season 2000/2001 - 22,4 Millions €
