Well, said, srd, old man... a sad day for football but maybe a great day for Chels if he DID come back and help the acedemy.

What better player, or person for that matter, could you have than this man!

his presance around the acedemy and even the club whould certainly be a: a great boost for all involved & b: another sign of just how seriously the club is now takeing the youth set up old bean....

how could you not be inspired by a player of his stature (in fooballing terms obiviously ;) ) teaching you the beauty of the beautiful game.

    Thank you Zola.

Here's to hoping he comes to the academy and shakes things up. ;)

Top player, one of the guys who really made the game that much more fun to watch. I don't think even the most ardent Chelsea haters could find much negative to say about him.

Zola was/is a genius. My favorite Chelsea player ever by an easy margin.

He was the greatest footballer I have ever seen however I wasn't alive during the 1970's so I never saw Cook, Bonneti or Peter osgood

Are you sure about that tribute match? I can't find anything on it and I know there was one last year for him against Real Zaragoza.

Napoli retired Maradona's #10 shirt. Argentina has retired it as well, but FIFA forced them to field all players as #1-23 at the World Cup in 2002. It's very rare though.
