Shots are 14-3 for Sanfrecce, and Montedio's first goal was a foul well outside the penalty area.

We're watching different games, I believe...

the 15min period i watched, during half time at nippatsu mitsuzawa, yamagata were all over them. they cut through the hiroshima defence a number of times. truly. it may not have been representative of the game as a whole... :D

With or without Inui, we are still defeated. Welcome back to the relegation zone :(

Filthy that Jubilo lost to Omiya with the last kick of the game. Can't really remember the free kick well, but did anyone think Kawaguchi could have done better?

To be fair, both teams had great chances to score before that, so it could have gone either way. Omiya hit the post from a wonderful run and cutback and Jubilo had its fair share of possession in the front third too.

    Bad loss for Jubilo.

Crap. I nearly went to Kashiwa tonight (away tix were still available as of last night at Lawson...) Unfortunately, my tight budget this month coupled with the fact it's a bitch coming home to Yokohama from Kashiwa on a weeknight ruled that out.

Now I wish I had gone. GREAT away win and confidence booster for Gamba tonight, poking another hole in Reysol's fast-fading aura of invincibility. :D

It had some good spin on it and it handcuffed Kawaguchi. Not sure what else he could have done on it. Ishihara was in position to get the rebound as well.
The way Inoue was calling the game, I was a bit surprised he gave us the foul.

I think the referee has the right to give a PK if a player started a foul before the penalty area but kept on doing it once they're in.
BTW, there's more to say about Lee's goal IMO. There wasn't any replay but he looked really alone ...

The after game show raised a number of questions over 2 of Hiroshima's goals - Lee's and the pk.

So what is the implication of Inui playing? He stays in Culpi's plans? Or was it just a desperate measure?

Kennedy was able to re-take a pk that was saved, I think. Just discussed on after game show...

Need to get rid of some Inui's merchandise before selling him?
Or he apologized again, and again, and again......??

Nice goal by Inui, last before he leave?

It's funny now and last season when Tamada is playing the football of his life ( a bit exaggerated maybe) he is not even considered for the NT (my guess). But was every other year.

I had my share of anger against him but I'v never disliked the guy and have also defended him a couple of times.

And Maeda keeps scoring. Too bad he looks bad in the NT to often.

Pretty poor way to lose a game for S-Pulse, but Kawasaki played better with 10 than 11 as so often happens... Jubilo losing in the 95th minute did cheer me up somewhat, though. :D

I missed all of this round.
But Nakazawa sucks, for the record. I've always hated him.

I'm sure a few of you have seen this already but... just found this right now. I like how J-League is making it easy for you to see (in Japanese) which upcoming games might sell out and which ones have lots of tickets available.

    http://www.j-league.or.jp/ticket/situation.html

Of course, it doesn't take into consideration which sections (and prices) are selling out/have tickets left, but still pretty telling of the overall picture.

According to the current page, LOTS of tickets for Avispa-Jubilo still available. But Antlers-Frontale also not a big seller?? Also noticed S-Pulse has sold more for their upcoming game against Kashima than this Sunday night against Vegalta...?

Yeah well Kashima is KASHIMA and Vegalta even though they are about to change their slogan to: Where the impossible happens, still is a small team.

As for Avispa Jubilo. Jubilo fans are not worried and Yellow jackets are slowly but surely thinking of imitating ventforet by putting paper bags on their heads

btw thank you for the link

Also, that S-Pulse Kashima game was meant to have been our opening home game of the season and thoses are generally big draws for the crowd. It was heading for a near sell out, but for the earthquake which postponed it.

Thanks for that explanation. I knew many of the upcoming matches were the re-scheduled ones from earlier this season...

Now on a different topic... I noticed that the majority of the scheduled kickoffs for J1 matches through August are in the evenings. No doubt this is due to the hot & humid Japanese summer, but with the push to save energy (especially here in Kanto, with TEPCO not planning to do rolling blackouts, but NOT totally ruling them out...) you'd think the J-League would have had more afternoon kickoffs when they had the chance to alter the schedule after the quake...?

It was 39.8C (~103F) in Kumagaya today, which means that Saitama Stadium and NACK5 probably weren't that much cooler come late afternoon. Forget watching matches in this weather, what about the players?

Sure, you could save a bit on lights by holding mid-afternoon matches in midsummer Japanese heat, but you'll lose those savings on people who will collectively say f*ck that noise, stay home, and pump up the AC while they watch the match on SkyPa.

Kobayashi saves Kawasaki once again. Kashiwa supporters didn't look too happy. Cerezo's bombardment in Niigata but Albirex players hitting post after post...

What a goal by Sakemoto ... I always felt he was a better player than Takahashi.
