    OK

I called Bailey's in Arlington and the woman I spoke to said they'd hold the Burgandy Room in back for the DCU game (holds like 300 people) and it would have the game sound (if you've ever been there you know you need to ask).

    Bailey's Smokehouse & Tavern - Arlington, VA
    4233 Wilson Blvd
    Arlington, VA 22203
    (703) 465-1300
    General Manager: Todd Creekmur

This is the Ballston Mall which is accessible by metro.

NOW, to help them and you out, please get there like around 2 pm so you can start filling in seats for our game (and then they can confidently turn away pointy ball fans to sit elsewhere in the place). It's huge so this should be OK.

Hope this helps. If someone here wants to be the contact on game day, let me know (that might help in case there are any snags).

Bump this thread. I think this is a great idea! Lets jam as many D.C. United supporters as we can in ONE PLACE! Itll be even sweeter to show all of the NFL fans just how much support and love for soccer there really is in this town. :D

K, Thanks for doing this! It is very much appreciated!

And Susan and I will be there too.
Thanks Kim for calling them and arranging this for us even though you aren't taking part (lucky you going to LA, be sure to wave to us!).

Your work on our behalf is appreciated.

I was in there last week for the VT-GT football game. They didn't have nearly enough wait staff and it took almost an hour to get a beer. I swore I'd never go again unless I had to. This may qualify as "having to". Still undecided whether to go there or Lucky Bar.

Virginia Tech games are always crowded @ Bailey's probably why service was the way it was. I'm sure it could now way even compare to the excellent service at Summer's :p

    BUMP...

Spread the word gang this is going to be great. K is having some black lei's to my house, and I'm gonna work with Bailey's management over the next couple days, see if we can arrange some sort of discount on drinks and maybe do some decorating, thinking of even contacting local TV stations see if we can get some coverage.

thanks for the invite, im new to the area so any more info on this place would be great. everywhere in germantown will be showing nfl games which are fine but our local team is playing in the championship for the first time in years and it would be nice to show some support from the local bars huh!
but yea if it is easily accessible from the metro ill definatley be there. one more question from the metro can you walk to the bar or do we need a taxi?
    peace

The Ballston metro stop (orange line) is RIGHT THERE, so its an EASY and SHORT walk.

I think we should be afraid if there is a chance he wasn't wearing pants :D

I *might* actually make it to this. Though saying that has doomed me to something coming up i'm sure :)

Channel 7 is a no brainer to contact since they are the ABC station. The others would be less likely to cover a party built around a competitor's broadcast.

That's what I was planning. Figured they would be the most inclined. Maybe see if we can get a post photog or something as well, couple of the radio stations.
