Why just the other day I was commenting on how sh!tty TV is, and here Jon Stewart has to go an prove me wrong. There's very few things in life I regret, and this is definitely one of them.

I would pay real money to see that video. I would pay crazy money to see Stewart whip Carlson's ass.

    Best. Crossfire. Ever.

As was mentioned in one of the liberal political blogs earlier today, what Begala and Carlson totally missed in the entire exchange is that TDS isn't a critique of politics / current events, it's a critique of the media's coverage of politics and current events. Newsmedia, especially TV, generally sucks regardless of your political affiliation. Stewart called these two out on it and they act shocked and dismayed that he wasn't being funny? Screw them both.

Jon Stewart is funny, but he has become a John Kerry shill.

And you're wrong. Again. How often is that now??

Hey Karl, someone criticized Armas in the Nats forum. Hop to it!!

And you know what else? You have to be one clueless mofo to NOT get that TDS mocks political coverage much, much more than politicians.

Which is probably why Begala and Carlson don't get it.

All TV needs to be shut down, immediately. This is the apex of the art form, it cannot be topped, it is perfection itself.

Jesus, the looks on Jon's face when he cracks Tucker, like, for example, when Tucker wants to talk about O'Reilly, and Jon turns it back and asks, where's YOUR moral outrage, and Tucker says, I don't have any, and Jon quietly, and very, very sarcastically (think high school cheerleader bitch) says "I know," wow.

That was good stuff. Kudos to Stewart for not being their monkey.

    Two points:

    1) He was calling out both of them pretty hard. Carlson was the only one who challenged him directly, so he bore the brunt. Begala reminded me exactly of the way he's played during the Hardball skits on SNL - no balls whatsoever.

    2) It's even more obvious that Stewart pays absolutely no attention to the internet (I mentioned previously that he said on a radio show that he doesn't read blogs) - he hadn't heard the conspiracy theories about the 'bulge'.

That's surprising. I would've thought he would want to check up on the competition in the fake news industry.

Carlson made the mistake of taking Stewart on, but little doubt that Stewart meant his tirade for both of them. For all of them, really -- these guys, Matthews, Russert, H&C, etc. Take your pick of talking heads. I don't expect to see Jon on Hardball any time soon.
I'm not sure that he knew nothing about it -- he may have just found the question to be irrelevant to the proceedings.

    Bless you, Knave.

That was the best TV I've seen in years... on the bleedin' Internet. What's that all about?

Mark my words ladies and gentlemen, it is only a matter of months before we see "Daily Show" wannabes popping up all over the place. And I don't think I mean that in a good way.
