And Iwashita would be starting if he was fully fit would he not?

    Re: Official 2010 J1 Thread [R]

Kashima had Marquinhos suspended for 2 games and managed 2 ties against a slumping FC Tokyo and a struggling Sanfrecce. Sanfrecce is near the middle of the pack defensively and Kashima couldn't score on them. They managed only 1 goal in 2 games.

Nagoya had been near the top of defensive teams before letting 2 in to Urawa. That was without Tulio. EDIT-They were missing Magnum as well.....I need to be fair.

Neither one had great results and that was with one player out. I believe the keeper for Shimizu was starting his first professional game...he let in the first two shots he faced and then settled down according to the stats.

Losing 4 starters and trying to replace them in a 3 day span is kind of a good excuse I would think.

I'd be interested to see how Kashima fared without Sogahata, Iwamasa, Ogasawara and Uchida

or Nagoya without Tulio, Narazaki, Magnum, and Abe

Because that would be the equivalent of what shimizu didn'thave on the field today.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh. But I still think they dont have what it takes to compete in the ACL just like how I didnt expect Hiroshima to get out of the group stage.

Damnit Okubo scored and I'm sure Okada came in his pants and brings him to SA.

Two more goals by Watanabe today. Why not give hime a chance?

It would be unfortunate if Okubo goes to SA, he has not scored since November 2008, he gets paid to score, and if he has not scored for that long, then hes not doing his job right, and if you dont do your job right then you dont deserve to be selected to go to SA.

True words. But Okada don't go by that rule. Then he would not call Tamada, Okubo and Yano every fcking time.

That's fair.....I kind of agree with you that they rely a little too much on Ono but I think everyone has that problem.

Sanfrecce is a bit too emotional, When Stoyanov isn't there they kinda lack a mature presence. Kawasaki has the same issue.

I'm not sure Shimizu has enough experience to get through a group stage....there's alot of talent.

    Re: Official 2010 J1 Thread [R]

Ota and Bosnar were out because of the stupidity of Sato, last game's referee. For the same reason, Sanga will be without Kwak and Nakayama in Marinos (...sayounara...!!!)
I was very happy to read on EL GOLAZO a harsh criticism of Sato. Well done Amatsuzumi-san! (<- Journalist).

Now, now, the best game imho must still be Gamba-Frontale. I could not watch Reds-Marinos (stuck in an office all day...),but will make sure I catch it on skyperfecTV.

Great results for Vissel and Albirex. It looks uglier and uglier for Sanga.

Hmm ... Pretty average. Needs to improve his way to control the ball.
Okubo was not amazing but man ... What a goal  .

I didn't see the gamba-frontale match, I just liked today's game because there was a good flow to it. It was like a good boxing match, both guys stepping up and punching throughout. The goals were nice too.

Yep, and add to that Aoyama who's been out for several months. To be fair, Bosnar was his replacement, so we're still only down five regular starters, but as has been said, take almost half the first team out of any club's starting line up and see how they get on.

Takeda the keeper also started against Kyoto in midweek and he did OK. He's only a rookie and is only in because of injuries to both Nishibe and Yamamoto. Fingers crossed either of the top two will be back for next week. Bosnar, Ono, Iwashita should also all be back available for selection, so we'll see how we get on.

Edit - sorry, four starting members, not five.

Yes beautiful goal by Watanabe. :) 2nd and 3rd of Marinos kind of gift for them by pathetic Urawa defense although good dribbling by Yamase too, still like 2 vs 5 or something in that attack?!:mad:

Shimizu, what is happening with Kodama? Is he injured too?
In the past two seasons I often saw him play very good games, I am surprised he's not around...

Hanyu had a nice goal too, there.

Let's see 2-3 more goals to get our GD up a bit! Hopefully one from Hirayama so he has a chance in hell at the NT.
