could he become as good as matthaeus?
this isn't just a guy coming over to finish off his carrer. we're now at the stage of guys coming out of retirement to take a well-paid lap around mls.
    it would be a joke.

Oh look another thread where NY haters can take a shot. 10 bucks this devolves into it.

In other news George Weah is thinking of making a comeback.

I don't think the Fire are keen on trading him.

Che cosa tu parli!!? Maldini e malato para NY:eek:

Maldini isn't going grab typical Serie A fans into RedBulls Arena, Maldini is bad marketing of the team and league. Fans want to see players that still have "it" factor, not someone once was greatest then retire and is over-the-hill.

Miccoli or Toni would bring more fans than 'Once Greatest' Maldini.

In Italy they keep telling that a negotiation in ongoing between Maldini and the Red Bulls, for a role as a player or manager. There are even numbers: 3 millions for 6 months.

3 million for 6 months? what's the point?

For the record, I'm not against aging players coming to MLS, I just want them to be committed to the team they are joining when they get here.

Paolo Maldini is better at 41 than any MLS defenders are 1/2 his age. I'd sign him and play him at left back...... If Lothar, Preki , El Pibe can play at 40+ , Maldini,in defense, will outshine them all....
