Thread for news about new signings or tentative signings for the 2010 season.

First up, Nagoya Grampus have agreed terms with 1.9 m defender Tatsuya Arai of Chuo University, and he should join the team next season. At least this shows that they recognize the need for another central defender, since neither Masukawa or Bajalica have proven reliable choices alongside Yoshida.

    More news for next year.

Vissel Kobe have announced that Hokuetsu High Schol forward Koko Aita will be joining the team next year. At 1.8 meters tall, Arita will add some much needed hight to the front line.

Porto observers were in Chiba to check out Diego (Kyoto Sanga FC). As you probably know they have already purchased Hulk from Verdy/Frontale last season.

Satoru Asari is also retiring after what I believe is 13 years with the club.

It's almost Disney-esque in how picturebook this situation is: two nearly lifelong veterans of the team get one more shot to hoist some silverware, and due to various injuries will be in the roster and most likely come on as substitutes...

We'd be happy to send them Tsuboi. This will solve everything.

It's a shame Emerson was spoiled in Qatar.
He was way better than Hulk.

Thiago Nevis was also called up for Brazil after he left Sendai.
I believe J-League should increase C-type contract quota for foreigners to sign more young Brazilians. Brazilians are always the best export. We don't need worthless players like Burzanović, Lavrič, Mikic etc.

Cerezo pays him only 28,000,000 yen. That must go up, or of course he will leave. IMO, the best destination for him would be Antlers. Gamba might be good as well, but a cross-town transfer is always a bit "bad taste"...

He can always go to Europe when he is 23 or 24...

In my opinion Kagawa is more talented than Honda.

A lower level team may be good for a young player coming out of Japan, but I really believe that Kagawa can step up to the challenge at a top club.

I wouldn't normally suggest this, but Kagawa is an exception. He is one of the best Japanese talents in the last 10 years and to develop this he needs to be playing top level football.

I think he can slot perfectly into a Ajax, PSV, or AZ. I believe that Spain would be the best destination for him. A team like Atletico or Villareal look like they can use a creative player like him and I have no doubts that he can perform at that level.

Is there a list of players out of contract after this year?

It is extremely long, it was on Soccer Digest for example.

Keep in mind that this is Japan, thus teams are rival companies, but they must respect each other too.

Meaning for example that Yanagisawa is out of contract, and technically he'll be out for the grab, but if Sanga makes it clear they want to keep him, anybody trying to snatch him will be considered very, very rude...

Last thing the clubs want are salaries going up...

So are his trials at Barcelona and Real Madrid canceled?

Please, Please do not go to the Reds.

I really hopes he goes to Zaragoza.

Unless Honda is leaving during the winter transfer window then it would be a bad move for Kagawa to go to VVV.

Honda and him in the midfield would definitely not work out.

I really hope he stays with Cerezo if he doesn't leave Japan. I mean, what is he going to really do at Urawa? It's a dead end.
Haven't we seen this before... Umesaki anyone?

    He should go to Antlers.

The other two big clubs are Gamba (and a crosstown transfer would be ludicrous) and Frontale, that probably doesn't need him.

IMO, before moving to Europe, he should play at the highest level possible in Japan.

The problem is that FC Tokyo don't really need another midfielder.

If anything they need another striker, but I guess Kagawa can play behind the striker so it might not be a bad idea after all.

In Dutch 433 he could also be a forward... but I think it's more likely that the writing is on the wall: Honda will be leaving eventually.
I wasn't thrilled with the idea of VVV because I think they are guaranteed to be relegated this year or next year. I think a club like Utrecht would be a better location if they end up selling Van Wolfswinkel (best name ever?).
But if the alternative is Urawa... sign him up for VVV now.

What I don't get is why he needs to switch though?
I'd rate him going to Kashima as only slightly better than going to Urawa.
What's wrong with trying to make Cerezo next years Hiroshima?
    Is it a money thing?

I see no Moriwaki, Makino, Sato, Aoyama etc. at Cerezo.

The only comparison we can make is Kagawa who is probably better than Kashiwagi, and Inui who is excellent, but still not tested at J1 level.

For the rest, I watched Cerezo play 7-8 times this season, and nobody really stands out--I like the goalie, thou.

I believe Kagawa at Cerezo would incur in the same risk that almost ruined Matsui's career at Kyoto. Skilled players should play at the highest level possible, imo Kagawa has already wasted one year, even thou bringing Cerezo finally up to J1 was a noble enterprise and I am grateful for that.
