Re: 1st Annual DC United Supporters' Charity Shield Match I don't know if the matches themselves will be any good, but I'm expecting the smack-talk in this thread to be epic.
Re: 1st Annual DC United Supporters' Charity Shield Match This is awesome. Well done. I wish I could be there. I will make a $100 donation to the charity chosen by the winner.
Re: 1st Annual DC United Supporters' Charity Shield Match Awesome - and out at least toward the west so I might be able to attend. Will it be an All-Star Screaming Eagles FC team, or just one of the specific teams? I say play the top-flight (WISL?) team and make a joke out of it not sure who will win, don't even care - but one thing's for sure, the referee is sure to receive plenty of abuse both ways Now the most important question ........ where's the tailgate?
So is this the pick-up game matt rose has been talking about with barra girls vs screaming eagles girls that volunteer to play, or is this actually a match between two organized teams? Because i wanted to play but i'm not on a team (probably not good enough anyway!)
Re: 1st Annual DC United Supporters' Charity Shield Match Hey, so long as I can get a receipt that the IRS will accept, it's all good.
Barra Brava FC women are recruiting players, but it will probably be some pretty competitive players. Either way, get in touch with me if you have questions.
We are looking for volunteers: a photographer, someone to work the donations tables, etc. Email me if you'd like to help. Thanks.
Unlikely... There is a flyer that I guess hasn't been posted but there is no beer on the premises and that includes the parking lot Brion's Grill is a short walk away and is designated as the pre-post game place And the Barra Team is our WISL team
eh that only happens like once a year and, lets be honest, i picked a helluva game to forget nothing like those epic 0-0 home draws!
If this is the GMU in Fairfax, the Auld Shabeen in Fairfax City is a great Irish pub. Very Soccer friendly. They have a down stairs bar that they usually let groups use. If it’s open. Great times there. 3971 Chain Bridge Rd Fairfax, VA 22030 - (703) 293-9600
Hilarious!!!!! I haven't seen the Eagles team in a few years and I've never seen the Barra team, but I think defense might not be what either do best As to which group will be more offensive ......... I predict both yes, I did pronounce that a bit differently ..............
Thanks for all the support from everyone. This is looking like its going to be a great event. At this point, you could all help us by spreading the word and getting as many of your friends, family and co-workers to the match as possible. And we are still looking for volunteers just in case some help is needed on game day. Thanks everyone.
I just wish you weren't having this on the weekend of the national team game in Chicago. I'll be there, and will have to miss this event.
Yeah, I know....Unfortunately, we had to work around United's schedule and this was one of the few weekends available. But This will be an annual event and we'll have more time to find the best weekend next year.
Well, they will do that for just about anyone... I mean a bunch of guys living in Spain on vacation got a game moved...
