I think of stuff like this when I think SA Just joined the Crocketteers as well (sent in the info anyway)
I would like to see something in the same color as the old San Antonio Riders jerseys. They could be the brown color with the three white stripes running down the shoulder. You could have Shiner, Lone Star or HEB be the sponsors of the team.
Hey Dan... Read your others posts on MLS expansion subforum. Where abouts are you and curious about your ties to SA?
Yes Caged, I did come up with that. I've got some other mock ups lying around that I'll post when I come across them. Oddly enough I've used HEB/Lone Star as sponsors for some of them LOL I'll dig through the files the next few days and see what I can find.
Just trying out a new template style .... also put a "working" version of the crest on it to get an idea. I'm still working on some other renditions of the crest and the jersey. Just wanted to post it to get an idea of the new template, and a "rough" idea of the crest for placement and such. As always, post your thoughts/ideas.
They look nice for a team, but I think we should have "Crocketeers" shirts to promote the group. If they are easy to make, even better. Something that says what the group is and the webpage. In that way, we would promote the group everywhere we go.
Again, shirts would be great but the biggest thing would be what to put on it. A crest is key right now to advertising as far as "grabbing attention." If we can get that nailed down, we can start mocking up cards, tshirts, etc and get the ball moving on that kind of stuff.
My bro is too busy with his paying job he hasnt had time to play with us. So if you want to take stabs at polishing the crest or know anyone with graphics skills who want to help for free .
We could find out how much somebody would charge to make some descent looking shirts (cheap, but not too cheap) Another option, I got to travel to South Korea a long time ago I bought a few jerseys for $20 each that looked somewhat nice but they were made by the vendors in their own little shop. I bought another cheap jersey on ebay, it looked really nice but as soon as you touched the fabric you could tell that it wasn't original. My point is that through the internet (with the help of some people) we could get in contact with one of those people from ebay that sell those jersey, give them a picture of our design and tell them that we'll buy him the jerseys for X dollars. Here's a few of those stores that have $20 soccer jerseys http://stores.shop.ebay.com/kakasports2008__W0QQ_armrsZ1 http://stores.shop.ebay.com/greats-soccer__W0QQ_armrsZ1 http://stores.shop.ebay.com/goodmaillot__W0QQ_armrsZ1 I bought 2 jerseys for $20 in Korea, they were ok and I kept them for a long time. They were made with the same fabric as basketball shorts. I bought 1 through ebay for $20, it looked really nice, but the guy used some fabric similar to what's used for wind-breakers, so I had to use a shirt under it. Another option... when I played a few times at "Indoor Soccer Club" just North of downtown San Antonio, I played for the guy that runs the place, and his team used imitations jerseys. I could ask him where he got them made.
Since we don't have a team, let's try to pick a color that stands out like yellow, orange, etc. Everytime I go somewhere wearing my Houston Dynamo shirt (orange) seems to me like everybody is staring at me because the shirt stands out so much.
