http://www.coloradorapids.com/News/newsdetails.asp?ID=1401 The Rapids just announced a double header with Chivas vs. Cruz Azul after the Rapids host Under-a-Chivas (tm nowar99) next Wednesday. Rapids - Under-a-Chivas at 7pm MDT Chivas - Cruz azul at 9:30pm MDT The kicker is that tickets start at $10 for both games but any tickets bought after 9pm will have a $5 incremental fee added on. I'm not sure if it will help get any more people into the stadium for the Rapids game, but it's an interesting strategy.
So what the Rapids are saying is: Worth of Chivas at Rapids = -5 dollars Worth of Chivas vs. Cruz Azul = 15 dollars So if a person just showed up for the first game only, would the Rapids pay that person five dollars?
Away club could show up to Rapids stadium with 1 supporter and it would make it a home game for away team
why didn't they make the surcharge effective after 7pm? people will buy tix at 8:00, tailgate and walk in at 9.
It could also be said that the Rapids have to pay people to watch them play, even if it is just for 30 minutes.
