Beat have signed undrafted free agent Megan Jesolva from Cal. She's a pretty good player who was better than some of those who got drafted. A nice fit as a utility player in defense or midfield.

The Beat have signed undrafted free agent Vendula Strnadova, a midfielder out of Memphis. One of the best Conference USA players of all-time. She's also a full Czech Republic international I believe.

I really love how the respective colleges of Strnadova and Jesolva can get these signings up days before the Beat even makes a peep.

Was there ever a specific salary cap? I didn't know that.

i found this number... Women's Professional Soccer - $12,875... for a minimum 7mth contract which is about equal to MLS. Do players get any type of housing assistance?

Many of the Freedom players who weren't originally from the area stayed with local families. Lene Mykjåland, Brittany Bock, and Becky Sauerbrunn definitely had such an arrangement.

If that estimate is close, what in the world do developmental players get. Based on the rumors on BS they get $7,000 ($1,000 per month) or so plus a room with a host family for the season. After taxes, that is not much.... So that $6-700 dollars after taxes a month covers food, clothes, transportation and cell/internet service. Not sure how that make that happen. Not much room there for anything else without second jobs. No wonder they head to EU leagues.

Per Boston's Facebook, they're bringing in Katie Schoepfer, Ahkeela (Darcel) Mollon, Leah Blayney, Allison Whitworth, Niki Cross, Allison McCann, and Gina DeMaio into camp.

Great to see Blayney getting a chance after ripping up the lower levels. And I think Whitworth has a real shot of winning the backup job in goal.

Yeah just saw that. Great signing for WNY. The Flash look even more complete now.

My question is though.. what do they do about the internationals? They now have Marta, Maurine, Kelly Parker, Christine Sincalir, Gemma Davison, Candace Chapman and Caroline Seger. Does someone not count as an international?

I've updated the preseason wallcharts on AWK with all the latest moves after first cut day. Everyone but Philly made at least one roster move.

kelly parker should count as an usa citizen. that leaves 6. i thought limit was 6 internationals but someone wrote 5.

it would nice if someone cleared this up. why would maurine post she has been signed? it might be that wny has picked up the rights to her from atlanta who drafted her but never signed her. maybe that's it?

Kelly Parker is an international. Not all seven are signed - so that will have to work it's way out during the next week or so as cut downs happen. The limit was raised to 6 for all teams.

How does Sophie Schmidt end up in magicjack camp? It was my understanding that she didn't declare for the draft and would be ineligible to play this season.
