Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition Hey guys! I am new to this site but i found a link about Ronald. He has been chosen on the san jose earthquakes team of the decade. And i guess i could post it here. http://www.masconazo.com/deportes/i...quakes&catid=80:salvadorenos-en-el-extranjero
Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition Thanks. It was actually already posted a few days ago, but that's cool. It's the thought that counts.
Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition haha i was wondering where it went to. My bad, i just created an account and i didnt know where to post it.
Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition That's cool, no problem. So you a big Cerritos fan or you just happen to have the same surname?
Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition haha i am a fan but at the same time i'm family. Cerritos is actually my last name, Ronald is my cousin.
Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition Oh cool. What's he up to these days? Still playing? Getting into coaching (seniors that is, i know he owns/runs his own academy somewhere up there; or at least he use to anyways)?
Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition He ended the contract at Carolina and then came back to Maryland, where he lives. He tried to get a try out with dc united but things didnt work out in the end. Ever since he has been focusing on his academy and family. He is actually looking to see if he can get something started for the kids in El Salvador. And right now he is coaching his own academy and coaching other travel teams but only at the youth level. mainly u-15.And if he gets one last opportunity he will come back and play at least one more season but so far he is enjoying what he is doing and his happy. So well see what happens. Hopefully it all works out for him
Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition Yeah that'd be great if he can set something up in El Salvador. He's always been one of my favourites, not just because of how he plays/played but cause he is just so down to Earth. He's not stuck up like some other Salvadoran internationals. Be good to see him get one last shot so he can go out the right way. Granted i'd imagine he could only play for maybe a couple of seasons if that (if he was still in form) but still, it'd be good to see him play. Maybe at Marte? Or Firpo? He was close to going there a few years back but things fell through. If he couldn't come back as a player though, i wouldn't mind him coming in and coaching. Either at an academy, or even a junior national team (U15 or U17). Anyways, here's a video of the great man himself.......... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLxHG-Kqxak"]Ronald Cerritos[/ame]

Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition I love this video ! thanks for posting it. We in San Jose for sure miss him, I only wish he can make it at least to one of San Jose's game this season. Oh! and just trhowing it as extra info: Cerritos used to wear #20 for the Quakes, now that number is belong to our own Ramon Sanchez.
NCerritos, good to see you on this forum...it's me Pepsi... Speaking of Ronald, it made me sick how alot of the fans treated him when he was here in MD...they would taunt him and say "Retire" and a bunch of other things...it would happen almost every game. I'm sure he didn't care, I just thought it was quite disrespectful...but eh, what can you do.
Re: Salvadorans Abroad - 2010 Edition Mmm...they play different positions and besides, Cerritos did alot...I just say let Ramon be Ramon and not try to live up to being someone else.
The article came out about 4 weeks ago to bad they didn't extended it a bit more El "catedrático de la zurda" cumple 12 años de fallecido

Cerritos joins United Broadcast team Maybe it's the lighting/angle of the photo, but Ronald sure has aged since I last saw him in person.
The guy looks the same to me. At least the same as he did back in 2008 when he was in the national team. Maybe a little skinnier but that's about it. Ncerritos, what do you have to say on the matter?
