Mbokani is not leaving in January. Next Summer maybe, even very likely. But not in January. Jovanovic and Gooch will be the only two departures in January.

  5. You're right. It is politicians like McCain that vilify (not sure about the spelling, but you know wat I mean) the Iranians. Some time ago a Dutch group of musicians tracked through Europe and than to Iran. In Iran they vistited hospitable Iranians and played music with them and they had great fun playing Hava Na Gila Hava that the Iranians sang along with great enthusiasm. Think what that Iranian president would think about that. So instead of killing Iranians it would be better to ... war mongering politicians.

I travel a lot for work. I think Iranian women are arguably the best looking women in the world. If you like blonde, blue, then you will not agree. But they have some nice looking women in Iran.

Here is the photo from the above article:

The fellow to the left is (5' 8" 159 pounds) Razak Pimpong of Ghana. Remember him? :(

Now if only Onyewu had correctly played Pimpong in that other moment in the game (stayed goalside, kept in hands away from Pimpong's back, arrived in time to defend Pimpong)...

    Here's another picture of Pimpong:

You really, really need to get a freaking life. This vendetta against Onyewu isn't even funny anymore.

Ignore list is fun, the only reason I had to read that crap is quotes. Even a Mexican fan would admit that was an extremely, extremely harsh call on Gooch. He's making Statman look a fool, dominating in European clashes, gaining interest from a CL side (in 2nd ATM as well).

Gooch has stepped his game up big-time since his struggle/disaster at Newcastle. Couldn't be at a better time, can't wait to see him in France (and hopefully CL play next year).

I really hope the OM deal goes through. Top 2 side in a top 4/5 league. Much better than a bottom half English side IMO, and the key, European play. Get him ready for 2010.

If things keeping moving in that direction re: Gooch's transfer and the Ligue 1 standings, both of our starting CBs could be starting in defense for Champions League teams next season, which would be a bit ironic given how often they have been slagged at times. I've questioned the pairing myself in the past, but they have been pretty solid for most of the last year and both are having good club years as well.

As do I. I'm glad Gooch is proving him and other naysayers wrong.

The other irony in that is that Bob Bradley stated earlier this year that he'd like for more players to be playing on teams that participate in the Champions League.

Gooch needs to land on OM.

Yes it is. We had zero playing in Champions League sides this year.

Still not ironic. Unfortunate yes, don't think it's ironic.

IEither way, I hope Gooch lands at OM :D

    An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
    Isn't it ironic ... don't you think
    Chorus

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought ... it figures

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
    'Well isn't this nice...'
And isn't it ironic ... don't you think
    Repeat Chorus

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
    In your face

It's a traffic jam when you're already late
It's a no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
A little too ironic... and yeah I really do think...
    Repeat Chorus

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
    Helping you out

McNaulty is just saying. If something is Ironic it has to have a literal meaning completely opposite of the usual applied meaning. Which is really Irony, everything else is just... a coincidence.

For Bob Bradley's statment to be Ironic, he would have had to have said " I don't want ANY players playing in the CL before the world cup(circa 2008) and then having Altidore, Gooch, Landy all of the sudden playing (in 2009) in the competition " now that would be ironic.

I've had a mad headache the last two days, so I haven't been able to think clearly and explain myself clearly.

There's also a funny picture of a Jamil Fearington, a YA who used to post on these boards, choking Pimpong. The two played together somewhere in Scandinavia.

That's hilarious! It's from their time together at FC Copenhagen, I'm sure.
