interesting article. At what level were Marquez and Torrado, and the rest of the guys that failed at the Preolímpicos played in Hershey, Pennsilvania? On the current team, we will have not one, but three players that are playing in the, hands down, best/most competitive league in the world. One of which plays for one of the best club teams in the world, and has already scored on teams such as Inter Milan. A lot of our younger guys will already have a lot of experience playing in Mexico as well. Players like Ochoa, Araujo, Mosqueda, Landin (not sure if he is age appropriate) not only have had a lot of playing time, but have played in gran finales, and international competitions (libertadores, sudamericana, CCC). the exposure in said tournaments will definitely make a difference. A lot of the other players start for their respective club teams, and the MFL is at a higher level than it was in 99. I'd like to know more about the 99 U20 team he is speaking about, but i think, because of the measures taken leading up to the olympics, the amount of exposure our players have been given, etc this U20/U23 side has a better chance of being successful. (on paper at least).
