In the triangle that we have here with U.S. soccer, what's the VERY FIRST thing you think about in terms of importance? Do you think first about your local club, and then the other aspects? The national team? Or maybe MLS? As far as U.S. soccer goes I can tell you that my priorites are: 1.) MLS 2.) USMNT 3.) Rapids I'm an MLS fan first, and a Rapids fan second. The health of the entire league and the news affecting the league as a whole is much more important to me than just Rapids news. I feel that a healthy MLS is the vehicle that will drive soccer to where many of us here want it to go. And I think in turn a healthy USMNT also helps MLS if they do well, but that MLS is the ultimate engine that drives the USMNT to success. What are your thoughts?
Dee Cee United continuing its Dynasty. MLS needs a dynasty team just like other leagues and we're more than willing to fufill that position
There is a better way to ask that question. Were you more disappointed that the US lost to Mexico, or that DC got their arses kicked at Pumas? (my answer, more pissed at DC) While you were watching DC get pummeled, were you glad that was not your team? (or would you have been proud to see your team play, even if they got pummelled. (I would have taken the beating just to see my team play them) The US national team is playing someone, and your MLS team is playing a foreign team too, but you've only got money for one ticket. Which one do you go to? (FC Dallas, no question) Same as last question, but now the national team is playing someone like Italy, and another MLS team, not yours, is playing a foreign team. Again, your wedding ring only got enough in trade for one ticket. Which game do you see? (If the nats were playing England, France, or Spain, then the nats. Anyone else, and I go for the MLS game.)
1) country (I live and die with every Canadian game - and the meaningful ones are so rare for us ). Clubs always have "next year" 2) club (Impact). I go to a dozen games a year and follow them religiously 3) league (USL, who cares? )
Galaxy, if the team didn't play in LA I wouldn't even have a passing interest in soccer. The USMNT is less important to me than our national basketball and hockey teams, and those aren't very important.
1. USA 2. LA Galaxy 3. MLS Although MLS is the lowest priority of the three for me, I will still support any MLS team playing against foreign opposition - even if it's San Jose or DC or Chivas USA.
1) Hating any team with Ronnie Ekelund 2) Earthquakes 3) Soccer team I play on 4) MLS 5) tie: Croatia national team, US national team
1) MLS: as everything else would fall by the wayside without it.2) The National Team: These guys have a chance to shed some light on this sport where an inept MLS cannot. 3) METRO: I love these guys, but they sure do suck.
I would definately have to say MLS is my first priority for the following reason. Without MLS, there certainly is no Chicago Fire to follow. Most importantly, MLS has created the success that the USMNT has had. It is not a coincidence that the USA has developed into a powerhouse during the growth of the MLS. US soccer owes their success and future to MLS and they should start taking care of MLS, ie. making the england/usa game a double-header. Outside of American soccer, I do love the EPL.
1. England - my one wish is to see us win a world cup in my lifetime. 2. Swindon - It's a curse, really 3. MLS - the key to the success of soccer in the US. 4. USMNT 5. DC United
