You think he'll break down in midfield?? And if he plays 25, that's all right. Feulner can cover for him well enough.
I missed a lot of the Libertadores this year. Since I left Ecuador there has been little interest from me since Ecuador's clubs usually crap out. Liga had a great run the year before last though. Even then, I only followed what I could.
Barrios looked good in the cup game from what I could tell. He seems to have more positional awareness than Valdez and also helps build the attack every now and again (which was suprising because I expected him to be cherry picking 100% of the time).
I'd say that's an accurate account. He showed just what others have said about him. He can definitely help build an attack and is a great finisher. However, don't expect him to dribble around defenders to set up or make his own chances. Which is fine by me. Barrios made a nice backward heel/chip pass to Tinga to set up the Sahin goal. It is nothing Frei or Valdez could have ever done.
Sahin looked good, but not just in the ways you might think. He scored, but his goal was the result of great work from Barrios and Tinga. Dude, you would be so proud of Sahin if you could see him on a regular basis. He really isn't the offensive threat people thought he would be three years ago. In my opinion, he is something better. He is a more complete player. He is fast-becoming a midfield stalwart because he is becoming very strong at ball-winning and can turn on the offensive part of his game when he needs to. He's becoming a very valued TEAM player. I think he's going to be a future BVB captain. I don't think he's ever going to be the offensive machine people thought he was going to be at 16. However, again, he's better than that. Again, he's becoming a more complete player and a leader. Which is what this club will need in the future. If you might remember, not as long ago as last season, I was telling people Sahin would never be the player some were imagining he was or would be. But as I said, he's become something so much better. At least in my opinion........
In a couple of games last year, I noticed Sahin was much better at tracking back. Obviously I do not watch everygame, but I think you may be right.
I'm new to this forum so I hope my question is ok to post here..I was interested in a guy named Tolgay Arslan..He was impressive this last 2008/2009 season at our bvb u19 scoring 30 goals in 29 games playing as an offensive midfielder..Can anyone tell me why we sold him to hsv..actually we didn't sell him..we let him go for free..I'd really appriciate if someone could answer me..thanks in advance
I believe BVB took their time trying to get his extension done and HSV stepped in with a very good offer. I could be wrong. However, Arslan isn't the first "talent" HSV has signed out from under our noses. Two more are Guy Demel and Kosi Saka. Demel is a good player for them, but Saka never panned out.
That is another thing that don't make sense to me..I understand we are not in a very good financial situation and we still have those debts to pay off but that is why we should be trying to make our own players even more..I' don't know if bvb menagment is aware of this but I think they simply had to give this guy a chance..they should have found a way to keep him..
We are trying to make our own stars and they are doing a better job with the young players. This kid just took a better offer. Nothing we could do about it.
What other up and coming talent to you see within our youth ranks. and welcome to the forum, Zlatan Sakovic!
well I think we have good youth teams..BVB II and BVB u 19 both won their leagues last season..we have lots of young players with potential to become very good players and I think we should do our best with them and give them their chances..I think also now with klopp being our coach things will be different..I like him having a system even though it may not be the best one all the times..I just hope in the future we wont sell players like Mario Gotze or Daniel Ginczek without giving them their chances.. P.S. Thank you for welcoming me..
Dortmund dominated Koln, without Kehl and Dede. If it wasnt for Mckenna and Kolns defense it could have been more. The thing is I dont know if its Dortmund playing real well, or just a real bad Koln team.
From the little I've seen of it and heard from others, Koln seemed to be content to try to get out of Dortmund with a goalless draw and nearly pulled it off. Others have said Mondragon's performance was more of a factor than anything Koln's defenders did.
Modragon was good but he wasnt great...mondragon's best save came on Sahin's half-volley blast... our finishing (once again) was piss poor...(yes, Nelson I am looking at you!) Barrios should've done better..but he gets a pass because it was his first match with BVB in front of 80,000.00
