Nyassi's play there typified MLS's problems in international competitions - an excellent recovery run to win the ball off of Torres, then plays a boneheaded backheel pass into his own penalty area.
Ironically, this game feels like a US-Mexico game. Not from the atmosphere in the stands but in the sense that Santos is clearly superior technically but New England is faster, fitter, bigger and overall more athletic, they frustrated Santos into stupid mistakes, stuck to their game plan and got the win. Instead of having no answer for Beas' pace, this time it's Nyassi. Instead of Altidore with the finish, it's Dube. Instead of Mastroeni or Bradley or Clark taking names in central mid, its Shalrie Joseph. Names are different but the result is the same.
Umm, I would add Larentowic as the guy taking names in Central mid. Did you not see him just level that dude around the 60th lol?
Finally final... New England wins 1:0 That wasn't the smartest game by the Revs and they were often way too casual and lacked any urgency. The cards and fouls at the end were just dumb. I had to follow the first half on MatchTracker because my linux box running my network screwed some settings up, but the second half wasn't that fun to watch. I couldn't tell which team was down a man at times. I wish I could have heard the crowd through that feed.
Revs win. They were CLEARLY the better team hands down no doubt about it... FMF teams just dont seam to be able to handle the quality MLS has to offer. 2-1-0 for MLS teams.
