If true - that is just stunning. MLS ran the show and pulled it off for womens soccer. Huh. I guess maybe they probably would have done better with WUSA too.
Once again, Most people do not believe this figure. You can insult and fix posts all you want, but you know how bad the crowds and TV ratings were.
I guess I'm not "most people" since I'm more than willing to believe they pulled a profit (given that these are the same folks who readily admit they've lost plenty of money on MLS). Of course, we all know that in this context, "most people" means "Thomas Flannigan," so who am I to butt in?

Two other people asked to see the details. Only one of those persons specifically expressed skepticism. Neither replied (yet) when additional details were provided. Yes, I do believe it. Little is to be gained by lying about it.
Whoa there. As the person who started that Women's N & A thread, I didn't say I was skeptical, I said I'd like to see the details. Which I would. The Dispatch quote regarding cost reduction from use of MLS/USSF staff and infrastructure could explain a lot, but I'm still always happier when I see hard numbers.
And that makes two. So unless three or fewer people were polled, "most people" seems a little, um, unlikely.
