Not me. I like just who we are. The UNITED States! Side note: I would expect all of CR's gamesmanship even if the conditions in Denver were ideal; they have an opportunity to leapfrog us the standings and be top of the group with a win, so they're going all out, period.
Hint for the Costa Ricans --- if you are going to pull the gamesmanship angle, don't tell ahead of time.
It's amazing to see the Costa Ricans feeling so victimized by the Denver game. I guess they've all forgotten about how we were treated in this one: Lost in Paradise: U.S. gets beaten and pelted Whatever it takes to get them pumped up for Friday, I suppose...
Hilarious comments by Campbell. I am still trying to figure out who out of all their players would break our starting 11. The US is taking Costa Rica to the woodshed in this game. Book it.
i hate the ticos more than mexico http://deadspin.com/costa-rica-is-trolling-the-shit-out-of-the-usmnt-1252737050 (*temporarily, at least)
Unsurprisingly, Costa Ricans disagree. They think snow is unacceptable.....and sleep disruption is funny. And we think an afternoon kickoff from them is gamesmanship.....while a Panamanian in gloves when it is 55 degrees funny.
Shame Deadspin couldn't get this right: On the other side, CR is still smarting from Jonathan Bornstein's 95th-minute goal in 2009 qualifiers that bumped them out of the World Cup. Once again, Bornstein's goal didn't bump CR out of the World Cup. It sent them to the playoffs against Uruguay, who then bumped them out of the World Cup.
All the goals scored in WCQ by CRC to the USA, since the first game in 1985. Add 3 more after friday.
Pretty sure that's the same hotel they stayed in four years ago. My wife and I and another couple stopped by there on game day. The team gave my wife and me a personalized jersey because we celebrated out 20th wedding anniversary in Saprissa stadium.
Any good footage of the piss cups, coins or batteries? And Fonseca -- that little bastard always used to score against us! I still think it was a huge mistake that MLS never managed to get him in the league. He would have been a great signing.
Definitely the same hotel they used in 2009. Here's Frankie Heyduk giving us the jersey in the hotel's lobby
It isn't a question of perception, but one of logic. When both sides receive equal treatment, then it's just a matter of dealing with the circumstances. When one side is being sleep deprived and the other is not, then it's a different story.
Ok seriously guys this has been killing and it's time I confess. I put my US jersey on backwards the night before the game thus why it snowed. Sorry.....
