Here are some of the local write-ups on the Hammerheads 1-0 victory over Rochester last Sunday. Special congratulations to Brock Duckworth, who gets a clean sheet in his first game as a professional. http://www.starnewsonline.com/artic...1155?Title=Hammerheads-return-to-winning-ways http://hammers.blogs.starnewsonline...m-sundays-1-0-hammerheads-win-over-rochester/ http://www.wilmingtonhammerheads.com/home/518450.html And this...Here is a video from halftime of Sunday's game...yes, I know it has atrocious music and a dance team, but it gives you a feel for Legion Stadium http://hammers.blogs.starnewsonline...-of-fan-photos-and-notes-from-sundays-opener/
Any chance of the blog writer posting starting lineups before the league games begin? They're not available on the USL Website until the match actually end.
And yes, the music during the game was really annoying. That must really affect the player's concentration, is this how it's always been or something they started doing this year?
Thankfully, the music usually isn't played during the game, excepts for quick bursts during injuries or other lapses in play. The one video was from halftime. Also, I forgot to mention this blog which does great game descriptions... http://gocamels.blogspot.com/ ...and has a starters schedule (listed in a 4-3-3 formation) at the middle of the page. This may be something the Hammerheads could do on their Twitter page (as they don't seem to be using it for anything else). I'll ask at the next Port City Firm meeting.
...and also on the topic of music in the stadium. The speakers on the east side (where the Port City Firm are located) mysteriously stopped working a few years ago, and it was found that someone had disconnected the wires. Suspicion automatically fell on the PCF. It is better to let these calumnies and baseless charges go unanswered.
Lineups on twitter would be good! And I didn't watch the video highlights, but I watched part of the first half and they played music during the game itself. It was very annoying listening, I suppose I can just mute the volume since there's no commentators though.
EVERY MLS team posts their lineup on their twitter account at least 30 minutes before every game and I see no reason why USL teams can't do the same. Even opposing MLS squads post each others lineups if one hasn't done so. The USL is taking steps to improve their coverage, but they are doing it slowly. Anybody have any good requests that they think will help the league improve their coverage to the fans?
