I feel alright about Benatia on Toni. Basically all of Hellas Verona's counters went through Martinho down the left flank against Milan, which is exactly what I would try to do against Roma with Maicon attacking so much.
Martinho had good positioning but he isn't the most talented from what I saw in that game. Why the heck is the curve closed
AT least Toni showed he is still capable and he is a massive danger. Therefore we have no such excuses Milan have for not defending him properly. We could all imagine if he had a poor game last week it would have been us to switch of that little bit.
This is actually a good game for Castan-Benatia. Toni isnt exactly fast and both CBs should eliminate his aerial threats.
I think this will be a tough game. I watched their home game against Milan last weekend and they played quite well. Plus, no Curva Sud is a minus too.
Because of the racist chants against Milan. Should be interesting, Verona's Ultras are one of the few in Italy that have embraced the tessera del tifoso and told their members to sign up for it. They should have the ability to bring down quite a lot of fans. Plus it's the first away game in Serie A, they've been waiting 11 years for this.
I think we should go with this formation: ---Maicon Benatia Castan Balza--- ---------------De Rossi---------- -----------Strooman Pjanic-------- ----Gervinho --- Totti ----- Ljajic-----
I think it will be basically the same starting 11 against Livorno but add Strootman into the midfield. Borriello will probably start as well unless the club finds a new home for him before then.
