    Thank you Zidane.

    You were great.

I liked you a lot when you were in French NT

Your magical ball control still gave a great impression

It's true. It came down on the AP wire just an hour ago, so the news web sites have not yet turned around the information into a story.

Its kinda sad, but Zizou has already proven himself in the national team. 90 odd caps, loads of goals.... He won france their first ever world cup and then a european cup on top of that.

At 32, he probably wants to hand the baton over to younger hands. It was always going to happen, but i suppose now it has come slightly ahead of schedule.

After euro 2004, he probably sat down and thought, I've done my best for this team, and I can't go any further in my career.

Zidane - you are the best midfield player - if not the best player in the world. You have done what any player would have dreamed of and your name will go down as legendary.

Everyone should appreciate his contribution not only to French football, but to the French society. Every Maghreban found a hero to worship and then went on to play, became inspired by what they saw....Certaintly made the rest of the world sit up and take a look at the new generation of french football.

Its been 10 fun years Zizou, there's another player who can replace your position, but never you.... :(

Au revoir et bonne chance - Zizou
