Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Why him? He's not from the US and although he claims he can play, he doesn't have citizenship and isn't anywhere near getting it.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread You're right... I did some indepth internet research (i.e. I checked his wikipedia page) and apparently he isn't a U.S. citizen.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread There is a lot of debate on this and whether it is a situation similar to Tom Dooley, although a little more removed. He may need to just fill out paperwork.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Hold on. I will go change his page so he will be eligible for the U.S.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Huh... "tongue-in-cheek" does have a wiki page. You're not going to change that too, are you?
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Update: Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has denied Zak Whitbread rejected the chance to join Huddersfield on loan last week. http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/4775513.Jackett__Defender_did_not_snub_Terriers/
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Don't know how reliable this blog is, but it mentions that Whitbread is likely to return to action this weekend against Walsall. http://livesportsreviews.blogspot.com/2009/12/preview-millwall-v-staines-town-live.html
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread This is an odd one: Whitbread looking to start a business taking care cats for people on vacation. "Zak Whitbread has shown an interest and I think he's planning to open his own cattery in Kent." http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2759094/Cats-way-to-do-it-Darren.html#ixzz0ZJG6pbHw
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread I was going to make a crude joke but these quotes from the article do it for me! Most run pubs to get the...............nevermind
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread That article was quite funny, that is why I felt it had to be posted even though it only had 1 line about Whitbread and didn't involve football at all
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread He's the hairy-handed gent Who ran amok in Kent Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair You better stay away from him He'll rip your lungs out Jim But hey, I'd like to meet his tailor

Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Seems like a logical move now. Here's hoping something goes through soon.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Im actually hoping that Leeds link turns out, i want Zak to be part of the two promotions that Leeds are going to be part of within the next two years. Thats my bold prediction anyways
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread The Sun apparently had a story in the printed edition (but not on their website) about Norwich City bidding half million Pounds for Whitbread. There is a lot of talk about the article on Norwich fan sites.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Not a bad move. While both Norwich and Millwall are in league 1, Norwich has a better chance for promotion. Although, looking at the table right now.......Millwall are two points off the playoffs. Both clubs could be in the playoffs.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Would love to see him at Leeds (Great fan base, two Yanks...). Norwich probably needs more defensive help though, giving up twice as many goals as Leeds. Both are great spots to improve and achieve, individually and team wise. Huddersfield is close to it's potential.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread I'm a bit torn on what I think would be best for Whitbread. Peterborough would provide the opportunity to play against better competition for the rest of the season, but they are going done so he would probably have to leave next season. Leeds and Norwich are most likely destined for promotion and thus next year he would be in the Championship. Huddersfield is a decent club, but probably will still be in League 1 next season, so again he would need to make this a short term situation. If that Swansea link from late last year is still viable, that would seem to be the best situation.
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread According to SkySports Norwich and Millwall have already agreed on a transfer fee and it is now down to negotiating wages with Whitbread. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_5837402,00.html
Re: Zak Whitbread Watch Thread Too bad... I was really hoping for Leeds, and the sure promotion to the Colaship that would ensue.
