Hard to believe some of you engage with a certain poster (sometimes I click the "show ignored content" button to see what is going on).

I have burned all my Mr. Bean DVDs as well, until the UK puts more US people from their funny movies.

Here's another thought- the US could buy all the players that make the EPL an attractive destination. That would show 'em. And then nobody would need to play there anyway!

So, why exactly haven't they revealed the transfer fee? It's listed as "undisclosed" despite weeks ago being 7 million and upwards of 10.5 million (including bonuses).

What league(s) does Man City tend to loan their players to?

The Australian league has Melbourne City. They say it's the Man City of the Down Under. :p

ManCity has 27 players loaned out. Two Yanks included: EPB & Mix.

That's still short of the 39 loaned out by Chelsea.

I'm old-fashioned. I think such pattern is bull and should not be allowed.

O/T but what's the deal with Mix being owned by City? Is he paid more? Is it just to skirt around the MLS rules? That whole signing was confusing.

Ask in the Mix thread. Or maybe search that thread for answers (futile suggestion, I know).

Isn't there a rule change where this will be bull and a much smaller number will be allowed? That will show which players they value.

Howard also spoke highly about new U.S. No. 1 goalkeeper Zack Steffen, who will join Premier League champions Manchester City in July.

"I think he has the physical tools, he's shown that, he's still very young, and he's growing and only going to get better.

"When you go over to Europe, and we all dream of doing that and playing in the Premier League and all that, but you have to be careful what you wish for because there are some dark days. Myself and Kasey [Keller] and Brad [Friedel] and Brad [Guzan] all lived those and we came out the other side better for it.

"The question for him will be can he handle the mental side of that. From all accounts, and from people around him that I know, he's in a really good place and he's ready to tackle the challenge."

Steffen will be part of new U.S. manager Gregg Berhalter's first training camp, which opens Sunday, while Pulisic will remain in Germany with title hopefuls Dortmund, who return to action Jan. 19 at RB Leipzig.

That wouldn't make any sense. He doesn't qualify for a WP, does he? If he doesn't, why would he sign for a team that has less connections to potential loans?

Maybe they're hoping he can be loaned to them and then loaned to another club under City's umbrella... crazy I know.

He will have a much clearer path to a WP (on appeal) by the end of the summer, assuming he starts in the Gold Cup. He needs 60% of our competitive matches back 2 years from the time of application.

There were 4 WC qualifiers in the fall of 2017 and no other competitive matches since. A Gold Cup final gives another 6 potential matches. So conceivably, he could have enough matches by August to qualify or, if not, be very close. If he has established himself as the #1 GK by then, he could probably get one on appeal if he doesn't get quite to the needed 60%.
