Went 90' on 9/19 and 9/26 in a 1-0 loss and 2-0 win respectively. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/zack-steffen/leistungsdaten/spieler/221624 Still in the relegation zone.
Anyone particularly worried that he's not even getting called into the first team training camp for Freiburg? They aren't exactly Barcelona, its Freiburg, a team that probably isn't much better than a good MLS team.
I'm not. He's getting games with their second team. The question I would ask is how he has looked in those.
Thats a question I don't know the answer to. I've searched on twitter and the German Freiburg forums, but there was nothing. The only indication of his play is that he's not with the first team for winter training camp, so its not like he's doing so well that he's forcing his inclusion within the first team, but I don't think anyone could give a detailed description of his play.
He looks to be the top keeper on SCF II. He's played just over half their games with the others split between a couple of guys. Also, most of those games he didn't play, he wasn't in the squad and about half he was with our u23s. So it seems like he is doing at least ok. I'd guess this is where he and the club expected him to be at this point. I don't think it would be horrible if he spent another full season with the second team and long as he's playing and making progress on his game. Too much, too soon can cause more damage to a goalkeepers development than worrying about holding them back. http://www.transfermarkt.com/sc-freiburg-ii/startseite/verein/245

I feel like they would've said something publicly by now? or they would've signed him already if he was a priority.
Also of note: Freiburg II were relegated this year, so they'll play in the fifth-tier Oberliga next season.
and for the reserve sides do they have a set salary that stays the same regardless if they're playing in the 2 Bundesliga or 5th division? or
U23 sides can only ever go as high as 3.Liga. They're not allowed in the league directly below the senior side.
so say the top 3 finishers in 3 Bundesliga are all reserve sides, would then the teams finishing 4-6th get their promotion spots? I gotta wonder that might somewhat hurt the morale of playing to win in certain games.
