Zach Barnes, out of Creighton, has a 10 day trial scheduled at Vitoria Setubal in the Portuguese Premier League. http://www.socceroverthere.com/?p=19267 http://soccerviza.com/soccerviza/readnews.aspx?id=509 His college bio: http://www.gocreighton.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1000&ATCLID=205584318 Also played for Timbers U23 squad in PDL. Picked by DC United in 3rd round of 2015 Draft: http://www.blackandredunited.com/20...-round-fourth-round-travis-golden-zach-barnes Zach’s trial begins on May 12 and will wrap up on May 22. Vitoria Setubal is currently sitting in 16th in the Premeira Liga, five points clear of relegation. The team is a cosmopolitan one, rostering players from Guinea-Bissau, Colombia, South Korea, Peru, Germany, Greece, Brazil, Mexico, and Cape Verde. Zach would not be the first American to play for the team, as he would be following in the footsteps of American-born goalkeeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell.
Zach was supposed to be on trial with them this week, but since they lost over the weekend and are now in a relegation battle, they pushed it back to next week, the last of the season. It should be a good time to go in and make a quality impression.

Posted an update to this in a new thread, but am moving it over to here: Zach's trial has been pushed back to run from the 18th until the 26th. Vitoria is in a relegation fight now and the coach wanted the first team to be without distraction going into next weekend's game.
Zach's first day of training was today. Reports are that he did very well and scored a couple goals in an inter-squad scrimmage. Will continue to update with pertinent info as it becomes available.
