Milk Cup broadcasters mentioned the possibility a moment ago.

This kid have an EU passport?

What about on Wednesday when the announcers mentioned something about Ethan White to Bordeaux (or was it Marseille)

The commentators have mentioned it numerous times. I'm surprised this is the first time we are hearing about it.

Let's ask the important question first.

Is he going to be bald?

I thought I was hearing things. I'd like him in MLS. There's a pretty good chance of starting for him in MLS.

I say send him over, if Timmy is recommending, and they want him, then I think developing there would be great, especially being taught by Tim, probably no better role-model in the business.

The commentators made it sound like it was a done deal.

Just how does MacMath qualify for a UK work permit?

In trying to find out about his eligibility for an EU passport, I learned that his dad played at Penn State (probably for the great Walter Bahr) and that he is Jewish but couldn't find anything about his parents being born in Europe.

The other thing of note in that story is that when Zach committed to Maryland he said he planned on staying two years. Well, he'd be a junior if he returned this fall...

I think what we are all avoiding here is that if he does go to Everton and he qualifies for a permit, that means he is eligible for another country.

    uh-oh

Why Everton? Howard is going to be top quality for a minimum 4 years. Why go and ride the pine?

Look at Guzan stuck behind the never ending Friedel. ZM best option is MLS.

They do loan goalkeepers in Europe. Crazy I know.

Why is MLS his best option? He's a U20. No top league is going to give a 19 yr old the starting job. At least within a European league he'd have a steady dose of reserve matches, top notch coaching (not saying that MLS doesn't have it), and better money. I'm not knocking MLS here, but I just don't think its an easier path to starting.

Along the lines of a work permit, is there not still a rule that allows for "exceptional talents" to get a permit? Not saying that its anything more than an possibility.

    this.

As far as his work permit goes, I would be shocked if he got the "exceptional talents" excuse to get a work permit. Jozy used that to play for Hull, and some thought he wouldn't get it. If Jozy had a shot at getting denied, then how would a college goalkeeper from the states get one?

From everything I understand I dont think he would be able to get the exceptional talent. The wording on that states it has to be a player that exceeds players that can be purchased for a similar price and also puts some pressure on the club to play that player reguarly as I believe they won't be able to resign them if they sign as a "exceptional talent" and then don't play him in any of their league games. I want to say theres some stipulation that the "exceptional talent" will play in 50-75% of his Club's league games.

MLS does not have good GK coaching ... Cassar and Petkovich are at the top of the pile .. the rest ... eh ...

BTW, hasn't MacMath's WP situation been discussed before or am I thinking of Lambo?

Tim Mulqueen is the real prize in American goalkeeping coaches. The guy has put every recent great American goalkeeper through the paces at some point
