E is for MC Eiht -- Get the Fist MC Eiht is one of many LA rappers featured in this 92 joint, Get the Fist, documenting the much ballyhooed but relatively short-lived truce between LA gangs following the riots. I posted this in the Political forum last week as a note to the 20 years since the LA Riots. It's a great sample of local talent of the day. Besides MC Eiht, it features Yo-Yo, Ice-Cube, B-Real (Cypress Hill), J-Dee, Kam, King Tee (Alkaholics), Threat.
F is for Fluke - in this case, for the track "ATOM BOMB". In college, I ran the student-run television station, and had my own electronic music video show for two years. This track was my opening credits. Still gets me hyped for a good work out. It was also my entry into non-commercial motion graphics and 3D animation, which is now my profession.
Bring Me My Bride -- A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum I am my ideal.... Edit: How did I miss that F has already been posted. No matter, I'm not changing it....
O is for Of Montreal -- My British Tour Diary Bonus visuals by Bettie Page Not the greatest sync, but who's complaining.
Q is kind of hard.... From Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.... I Will Survive Plus, it's fun to see Elrond and Agent Smith in drag....
S is for Sona Sona - by Major Saab. I've posted this in other threads in the past--but this is seriously awesome. The tune and the video, not sure which one is more brilliant. Highly recommended.
Since it's opening day for the Czechs at Euro 2012... T is for Tomáš Rosický playing with the band Tři Sestry:
I'm making this one fit - wanted to share it for awhile, ever since I came across it. It's very early Waylon Jennings, singing with Buddy Holly playing guitar and King Curtis blowing the tenor sax. The song is called Jole Blon - it's a cajun tune and it's al kinds of awesome. I propose that three partial U's = an appropriate U selection.
Figured I'd go for a theme here, since the sun is about to rise in Poland for the 2nd Czech matchday. W is for Petr Čech playing drums with Eddie StoiloW on a cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" *Yeah, I'm bending the usual rules a little, but at least I didn't use the w in with.
Haha, fair enough, although we don't have any other Arsenal players. Right now my top choices for match day 3 are either: Plašil's washboard solo, Jiráček's smooth vocal stylings, Pilař and Gebre Selassie's dueling accordions, or Kadlec playing the pan flute.
