https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...inalizing-1-25m-deal-fc-dallas-chris-richards Looks like Richards will be gone to Bayern for 1.25million transfer fee. Not a bad deal for FCD who had him for a very short period of time and he really developed in Houston and now more so at Bayern. Good model for making money off the youth players for MLS clubs.
Holy mackerel. Josh Sargent just came on for Bremen and scored...…………………. A tap in for sure, but who cares. Sargentwatch is over! Debut in the 76th minute. pic.twitter.com/jWKrvJHy9F— scuffed (@scuffedpod) December 7, 2018

I could have scored that goal (and I think it was going in anyway)……but who the hell cares! WELCOME TO THE BUNDESLIGA JOSH SARGENT! Only 2 minutes into his Bundesliga Debut he finds the back of the net with his very first touch 👏🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/0YYIbmog5Q— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) December 7, 2018
I honestly feel had the defender not ran over the goalkeeper and topple him over, just maybe he could just saved it. But who cares, he scored!

Stay with #NERevs news...tonight Rennick playing for @IndianaMSOC in #CollegeCup is being closely monitored by Frankfurt & Celtic overseas yet hasn’t been offered a deal from #NERevs with whom he wants to sign with. #MLS https://t.co/sp1ziQZ1nX— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) December 7, 2018
Rennick was very good at U-17 quals. Better than Soto. Those might have been outliers for both of them, but the interest isn't surprising. Hopefully he doesn't go to Revs with insane Friedel.

He played about as good as Ebobisse did in U-20 qualifying a cycle ago. Very good from the run of play, but couldn't find the net. We heard that Ebobisse really struggled during qualifying a cycle ago. Rennicks supposedly did well.
I prefer to compare him to someone who played in the same tournament. Rennics missed some chances, but led the team in assists and sco would have had betterred better than a goal per 90 mins. Ebobisse should be compared to Sabbi. American kids have a totally different reputation in Germany now, both Ebobisse and Sabbi would have much better options today than 2 years ago.
We have a live meeting scheduled this month with him regarding his future and the #NERevs. This makes it seem like our staff aren’t speaking with him which is not the case. https://t.co/FMbudI8WFD— Brian Bilello (@RevsPrez) December 8, 2018 We'll see how this plays out. Rennicks was a pleasant surprise at U20 WCQ, but I think Eintracht Frankfurt is too much of a step up for him. He needs to find a place where he can get 1st team minutes as soon as possible.
So what happened is that the players Union was suing MLS and the Fed for antitrust violations. The Fed agreed to the Union’s demands to not enforce/facilitate FIFA rules that restricted the movement of players, including payments due to other clubs when a player signs overseas. In exchange for the Union getting those demands met they agreed to drop their antitrust claims against the Fed and the judge signed off on it. So if the Fed goes back on that the Union will sue, the Fed would have violated a federal court order, and the Union can reassert their antitrust claims.
I think the original piece of interpretation people need to make is from agent speaking on background to normal human.
Plus we can add on the "telephone game" effect. Regardless, the agents are expecting more talent from the US. I think no one can deny that.
IIRC, wasn't there an issue with the NER and Rennicks? Something about him going on a trial/training with a European club while in the NER Academy despite the rules saying he couldn't. The NER Academy subsequently shut him out, but as a NE product he had nowhere else to go, so he sat around for a year-ish, then went to college? Am I thinking of the right guy? I'm 90 percent sure the NER-European-trial-dustup part is correct, just perhaps a different player.
So, why does he want to sign with the NER? I imagine he would've felt hard-done by the NER before going to school. Although, I'm sure the fact that the NER are a pretty bad team with poor depth has something to do with it. Perhaps he figures to be fighting for minutes straight away there...
The settlement was that the Fed would not do anything to restrict the movement of players out of contract. Nothing was ever litigated about players under contract.
