I would disagree with your last comment. I think is the opposite. I have seen more than once people that I thought were American's with an accent buying high-end stuff like a 4 thousand dollar mountain bike; They turned out to be Argentinians visiting. Is said the Argentinians are the most world travel people in South America.
I’m mainly going by a rich Argie who tried to hire me and all his friends and business associates in Miami. Not one of them spoke English, nor needed to, since it was Miami after all. Beyond that, I haven’t spent much time in the Southern Cone.
