That may have been McKennie’s best performance to date at the “8”.

He may be able to stay there at a high level. I had my doubts.

It's been said that it's not a club in Germany.

Pulisic, Dest, and Weah face off in the group stages of the CL. If I had to choose I'd go for Dest and Pulisic to Advance

Ugh, Soto could end up in that Hyndman purgatory zone for a whole season.

    --------

"Hannover 96 and U.S. youth international striker Sebastian Soto is unlikely to move before the close of the transfer window on Sept. 2, with one source close to the player putting the chances at "five percent."

Hannover issued a statement last Thursday that Soto was in advanced talks with a club from outside Germany about a transfer. The source said Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge as well as Liga Portugal powerhouse Benfica are among the interested clubs.

But the source added that Hannover's demands for a transfer fee in the seven-figure range have put off interested suitors, especially given the fact that Soto's contract expires at the end of the current campaign, allowing him to sign a pre-contract in as soon as four months. Hannover offered Soto a three-year deal earlier this summer, but the player prefers a two-year contract."

They are burning bridges with young Americans. Hannover might've been relegated, but they are a rich enough club where they don't need a few extra hundred thousand. I suspect this is more about being upset the player wants to leave and not sign than requiring the transfer fee.

Soto turned from "yet another guy with some youth goals and half a cup of professional coffee to his name" to "the guy who beat France in a FIFA tournament on global television" this summer. This is probably Hannover's best chance to profit from that, which I would guess would be seen by the club as a windfall. It seems like comparatively simple business to me, even if some people might be unhappy about how it's being conducted.

Is the window still open or is Soto in limbo?

Maybe this year he’ll use this good performance to springboard a nice loan to a segunda club!

This applies to both of our youth yanks abroad threads, but it'll put it here..............
6 of the 7 Americans in the Champions League group stage rosters are USYNT eligible.
The 7th is Horvath who's still young for a keeper.
