Last I checked (a few days ago) he had played in 4 games for the first team this season. 0 goals 0 assists. I don;t know what position or anything else.
There was a brief spell where he was coming off the bench for Hertha, but he is playing with the reserve team again.
I put some stats in the general Hertha Berlin thread. I think he mostly plays as a DM or RB. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=22929247#post22929247
Alfredo Morales is in HERTHA´s squad for today´s (Friday) game against F.C. INGOLSTAD 04. keep up the good work !!!!!!
Alfredo made the bench for this weekend's game, but was an unused substitute. Hertha won the game 2-0 and clinched the title (2. Bundesliga) after having secured promotion 2 weeks ago. Here's a picture with a fake trophy. Alfredo is to the left of the picture with his top hand on the trophy. Here's another picture. Alfredo is #27 toward the middle of the picture. Let's hope he can maintain his place next year in the top flight. He's a solid and promising prospect.
He is very solid. However, look for Hertha to loan him out next season. He could use some seasoning in the 2./3. Bundesliga IMHO because he's still very raw. Plus, it looks like Hertha will be signing Andreas Ottl and keeping Peter Niemeyer, so I doubt he'll have many chances at Defensive Midfielder, which is the position I see him being most comfortable in (I don't think he's tall enough to be a CB).
Morales has joined the exhausting (am I the only one that wants this list narrowed down and not expanded?) list of Yanks linked to Roma
Morales came on in the 72nd minute of a 2-0 loss to Basel yesterday. He went the distance in a 4-2 loss to Young Boys Bern on Friday. He is listed as having played at left back and gave up the penalty for the first goal.
Hertha plays Real Madrid on Wednesday in Berlin, it will be interesting to see if Morales gets into that match.
Doesn't look like Hertha are interested in loaning out Morales (or at least no one seems interested in him), so look for him to maybe make a sub appearance against Real.
Alfredo played the second half against Real Madrid and, by all accounts, aquitted himself well. Here are some pictures of him from the game. Taking on Khedira: and Kaka:
I wonder how the international game would impact his transfer situation. I figure he'd do much better with a year in the 2. Bundesliga, but if Klinsmann becomes the US manager, given his preferences for Germans and younger guys, you have to think Morales would be close to making the leap to the international game. I fear he could be rising a little too quickly if that's what happens.
Hes provisionally cap tied to the USA right? I thought i read somewhere that he was called to German youth team but couldn't go because he had appeared for the USA u-17 or something like that
