    Underrated:

Jose Mari (He is been the trickiest player on the team besides riquelme!
Nihat (his a great striker better than forlan, and more complete)
Gonzalo(Before his injury he was the best CB in Europe)

    Overated:

Forlan (Riquelme was who made him big)

    I agree with Guti!

But Beckam for his position is not the best choice on the market! I dont think he would get top 10!
Plus his assist and his passes are overrated, unlike Riquelme touch and passes which are been for the longest time, underrated.

He has just came back from a bad injury and hasnt reached his best. For Leeds, he played alright and well he did score quite often for them, when a goal was most needed however. Now looking at the stats lanman produced his average was about 6 goals, but not including cup goals. Fergie got him just for cover and his bad-boy attitude most probably.

He is a Juve legend and there's no doubting his talent and his contribution to the Juve cause for many years. Some Juve fans though try to really make him bigger than what he is though. He will be idolised by many Juve fans even after he has retired but his NT career hasn't been too great. The stats may indicate that he has had a great NT career but he hasn't made an impact at a major tornament. ADP may be a World Cup winner but he wasn't a main protagonist last year. Del Piero doesn't really belong in the overrated category in this thread because of what he has done at Juve but his performances at NT level aren't of the standard of his Juve performances.

Guti...the past 5 or so matches he has been (in the words of ray hudson)

MAJESTIC.....he has been excellent this season but, his passes, I mean everything he brings ot the table. In like 2 straight matches I believe he had a hand in all goals scored by madrid.

Guti is one of the players with more talent in the world. The problem is in his head, he has not a competitive attitude, sometimes even a bit childish in his approach to the game. I think he can give more to Real as the 1st bench option, to reactivate the team in the 2nd halves. When he starts more than 3 games in the first XI he is lost.

ive missed out on seeing Guti play - i've always known him to be a gifted player but never actually seen him play much.

i think honestly, Scholes is the most underrated player throughout europe, altho Man U fans all know how good he is. England need him back.

agree with that assessment on both counts. mancini is a good player, but the lyon stepover goal (and it was a great goal), made people rate him too highly in my opinion.
perrotta was missing in the center of the midfield in the united-roma debacle, even though pizarro came back, 'nuff said.

110% Agreed. Perrotta is one of the best midfielders in the world and whoever doesn't get his play just doesn't know football. He's an essential part of Roma's system and the national team.

I beleive he was runner up twice and finished 3rd or 4th in World Player of the year voting, but I still don't know how he didn't win the 1997/98 Player of the year! Zidane won and Del Piero finished 2nd in the voting, but they played together at Juve and anyone that watched Juve back in those days knows that Del Piero was definitely the main player at Juve. He scored 22 goals for Juve that year, they won the Serie A scudetto, and he brought Juve to the Champs League final and won the Champs League thanks to his 10 goals. He was champs league player of the year, he had a great serie a compaign, and Zidane scored two goals in the World Cup final to beat Brazil and won the player of the year. No way Zidane was better than Del Piero in the 1997/98 season, there is no way!

Like I said before, it's more to with his performances with Italy than with Juve. If only his performances for Juve were only considered, nobody should say he is overrated.

ECMoney, do you remember a guy called delp07? He was that much of a Del Piero fan, he always thought that ADP work heroics at NT level but for the Azzurri, he has underachieved, even though the stats don't show it.

SPOT ON! Iniesta is so underrated. Also add Xavi+Deco to that list. I'd say Ronaldinho is overhyped as well, even though he's excellent

To some extent Cesc is overrated. He still is the most influential player of his age. But how is Nasri underrated? Agree 100% about Fernando Torres.

    C.Ronaldo, Adriano, Nolan are overrated
    Keane, Seedorf, Zanetti are underrated.
