Second, Vidal can and has played as LB, and well. 35 y/old can have more stamina than an 18 year old, plus to be LB u need way more than stamina, I guarantee you Zanetti wouldn't have gotten destroyed by Sanchez like Vargas did.

Di Stefano was able to play as a GK, should we classify him as a FW/GK? And I know for a fact that Vidal plays mid-attack for Leverkusen. When was the last time he played LB for Chile??

yea seen vidal play in RB i remember he can play in various roles, btw Vargas defending isn't his main attribute like maxwell / maicon or anyone like that so using that "alexis sanchez destroyed him" seems unfair to not put him up there in the list. would you not put maicon or alvez just because they suck at defending in there?

Vidal es bastante polifuncional, es una de sus mejores cualidades y el por qué lo coloco en una primera línea de volantes en mi equipo, pero como lateral izquierdo puntualmente, Vargas es superior creo yo; también comparto la opinión de que es uno de los jugadores fijos en un once inicial de América. Zanetti puede jugar como lateral izquierdo, pero es primariamente un lateral o mediocampista por derecha. El más cercano a poder disputarle el puesto sería Claudio Morel Rodríguez, sería mi segunda opción.
Muy de acuerdo que como L izquiedo Vargas es mejor que Vidal. Lo que tu compatriota no quiere entender es que no se puede comparar a que Vidal juege como L Izq. que Di Stefano jugando de arquero, o Riquelme jugando de volante de contencion.
De que hay una gran diferencia en la comparación de di Stéfano, la hay. Lo de Riquelme es circunstancial, inició en un puesto pero se consolidó en otro y hoy por hoy no concebiría que pudiera catalogársele como volante de contención porque no parece tener las condiciones para desempeñarse en esa función, en especial porque es sabido que él no es polifuncional como lo es Vidal.
