Just wanted to update these: We're now on pace for over 16000 total U20 minutes and over 700 minutes per team. The total minutes is awesome, that's the second most since 2010. And since I'm doing U20 minutes, that means '98s and younger, which makes it even more crazy that this year is such an uptick because RSL has played 0 eligible minutes under that criteria.

Watching Busio's game. He looks smooth willing to challenge defensively, good vision. He gets fouled drawing a red card. A bit harsh for a read but it was a reckless foul. Busio looks to be ok. Kid plays way beyond his 16 years. The kid can ball.
Busio had the best shot in the first half for either side. Let loose an absolute rocket from 25 yards that shook the entire goal frame. Would've been MLS goal of the week. Looks composed and competent out there. His teammates are lacing the ball into him in tight spots which means he's shown in training that he can handle it. Good signs.
25'| Busio was this close 👌 to putting #SportingKC on the board. What an attempt by the 16-year-old! #HOUvSKC pic.twitter.com/mh7TcQExCK— Bally Sports Kansas City (@BallySportsKC) August 5, 2018 Video of the shot.
oh. my. god. Busio with an abolutely DISGUSTING assist to put SKC up 1-0. One-touch flick to set up his teammate. Unreal!
Busio with a sweet assist to put SKC ahead. The announcers have raved about him all game long. Definitely has looked like one of the better players on the field today at only 16.
Damn I can't stop watching the goal.. Watch how he finds that pocket of space between the defenders and midfield. Watch how he checks his surroundings like a seasoned pro and gets ready to receive the ball. Because he's checked around him, he's ready to act as soon as the ball is at his feet. How often do you see young players take a touch there and overthink that? Hell, how often do you see guys deep into their careers taking too many touches? It's so easy to ball watch and not think of what you're going to do until you get it, but Busio is a step ahead of everyone on the field. He is alert to his surroundings, and the rest is just skill as the ball comes to him at pace, and he's able to not only take some pace off of it, but put it in the perfect spot for his teammate. The kid is gifted and I'm excited to see more of him.
I did some checking and Busio's dad is Italian and his mom American from N. Carolina, so he hold an Italian passport as well. If he develops, even more, he can go abroad as soon as he is bought.
I’ve been really impressed with what SKC has done with his development. When I saw him with the u15s and then at the Nike friendlies, he looked incredibly loose with the ball. He stood around too much and waited for the spectacular play or shot. Skc moved him to the 8 and had him play conservatively with Swope Park all season. He also had to cover more ground. I think his future is looking pretty bright right now.
Unless you guys have objections, I’m going to lock this thread and we can discuss in the in-season and off-season threads.
