If I were to guess it's because of the loyalty for his "boys" from the qualifiers and Asian Game days.

I think Yoo probably acknowledges the fact that he is a limited player. I don't blame him for cashing out early in his career by going to Saudi, and I know the Russian league is pretty obscure, but it's still a step up (Probably in the top 7 in European leagues?) and is making steady progress in his career. Yoo was probably never going to make the straight jump from Korea to England or Bundesliga.

Hong Myung-bo doesn't like forwards with no work rate.

so, i figured out why YBS got the start. Dzyuba is a loan signing from Spartak Moscow.. thus, he was ineligible to play. good to know YBS is 1st option to replace Russian International (could see him play against Korea next month)

as for Dzyuba in general, his hot form in Russian league has him linked to Barcelona (as cheap target FW option)

i actually want to see YBS get called up for November friendly. for majority of his time in Russia, he mostly played as #10 (or played behind Dzyuba) & dropped deep to help out defensively. he should know the Russian players as well...

I agree that YBS should be called up. Haven't seen him play much but as a natural poacher, he might provide the goals we need. We already have a solid midfield so I don't really think we need our CF to drop back and help build up play. Besides, our other options are JDW, KDS, and other K-Leaguers that have thoroughly underperformed when given chances. Ugh.
